95 Protege front end brakes

I want to change the front brake pads on my 95 protege but i'm not sure how it comes apart. I've taken the caliper off, and there's two long rods holding the pads in place.....they are pretty rusted and have no allen key or any time of screwdriver to open it with. Does anyone know how to remove the pads from these two long rods...?
