i live really close to the afb, but im not in the airforce
When I was considering joining, I was planning on being an aeronautical engineer and heading out your way. I skipped the military idea, went to college and got 2 engineering degrees in 3 years lol. It's a given, being near a military base. The area will be flooded with modded cars. That's what happens when you get a bunch of mostly single guys together who have money and don't have expenses like rent/food.

yea its kinda a good and a bad thing. lots of people with steady income buying and modifying cars, but alos a lot of people failing miserably at doing so lol.

Yep lol. I figure parts a plentiful and cars also. If I were in an area like you, I would live on craigslist

i do sir. the only mazda guys, and no offense here, are retarded army guys who have no idea about anything...
good place to own/work at a performance shop though. army= money and no time or no knowledge, but still wanting nice cars, no shame in that.

been in the army going on 6 years here at Ft. Hood, TX and I totally agree about the cars. They are everywhere, blow off valves and the spool of a turbo around every corner..lol. Mostly Evos, STIs and SRT 4s...and the occasional boosted civic hatch. There are a lot of Mazdas too, including a few MSPs. But, the proteges are ruined with body kits and chopped up exhausts. The rest are riced out cars trying to hang with the big boys. There are two good performance shops for tuners in my area and believe me, they make bank off of soldiers here in the area, including me when I first got here..lol. I don't blame them though. Businesses thrive off of military installations because of the steady income and also increased income from deployments. Most military towns would crumble without the steady business from soldiers though. and JDM_Pro5, you are on point about the tattoo shops and hookers. There are tattoo shops on almost every other block, cash loan places, car dealerships and surprisingly this place has a pretty high STD rate as a result of the amount of sluts around here looking for single soldiers new to the army or just getting back from a deployment overseas. But enough about that, 719prottege, did you notice a significant difference switching to meth injection?

hahah yea i really do like living in a military town, easy to get a job, easy to make money, a lot of soldiers are actually pretty cool. the meth really doesnt have noticable gains, other than the fact that it reduces knock and cools down intake temps, allowing for more boost more safely. as far as actually feeling the meth, you really cant, i did noticed it felt a little smoother if anything.

Yeah, my buddie has always loved cars and jumped around from honda to honda. He is pretty dumb and makes bad financial decisions. he is $30k in debt, at least, and it's still cars cars cars. He went from his hondas, to a wrx, made it stage two, has his share of mustangs. now he has a cobalt SS. all the standard military (fast cars) except for the evo, but by god he looked at them. I understand my P5 isn't a very fast car. yes it had the potential to be but that takes time, money, right direction, and dedication. I plan on making a clean looking DD out of it and buying a 5door STI in the next couple of years

Sounds about right. I really like the protege platform, and mine is faster than an sti already, but I still want one. The ptotege will soon be a track and weekend car and either an sti or evo will be my daily. I live to snowboard so that makes sense for me.
