7 pin socket reverse light

I have been trying to solve a problem on my CX9. I have not been able to get the reverse lights via the 7pin socket next to the tow bar. I can’t get any voltage on the black wire. (Standard Australian trailer wiring).

I have traced the wire back to where the tow bar harness plugs in, inside the left rear wheel arch cover. Here I can see that there is a black wire that is un-terminated in the loom. It’s end is taped up in the factory wiring. You can see it next to my thumb. Photos of the part number is included as well. It’s right next to the 8 pin plug that connects to the rest of the body loom.

All the trailers and other accessories I throw on a hitch have a 7 pin connector and the only tow wiring we can get in the US is a 4 pin. I have it sitting in my garage waiting to get installed because I don’t want to have to run the other 3 pins manually. If I’m reading those installation instructions correctly, you have an existing wiring harness run to the back that you just plug into?
