$6k depreciation ...

The problem with this car is tat mazda offers 0% and rebates, ALOT! Thus who the hell wants a used one when for 20/month more they can have a new one. SO the trade in has to be low. Also keep in mind dealer trade in is always atleast $3K less then what they will sell it for. Sell it yourself for $13K and I bet you might get $12K-$13K for it.

If you want a car that won't loose value go buy and integra GSR. God damn things hold 80% or more of there value after 2 years.

I bought mine in August 02..... You paid $6200 more than me for a 6 disc changer, lo jack, leather seats, bumper guard and rubber trunk mat.... Thats all I was getting at
Don't worry about it...I was thinking of trading in the Protege5, but I don't I'm going to. I'm planning on getting a project car soon...

yeah... depreation sucks...

you can blame most of that on Mazda, because around here I can buy a brand new P5 for 13,999 and still get a great rate..

good thing I only paid 11 *wink* (w/ 20k miles....)

Everyone's trade-in is s**** right now. It's not just the P5. The market is flooded with trades due to all of the new car incentives. Take a look at used car prices on the dealers lots, they are much lower than in years past. Dealerships, like most other businesses, exist to make money, they can't do that by giving too much up on trades since most of the margin is on the used cars.

I guess I got lucky trading mine to some dipstick car lot - gave me $15,000 for it, and no they didn't adjust the purchase price of the truck I bought to make it look like 15K.
