4K fuel cut any gear????

wow. I think I forgot how to spell in the last post. Could this maybe be as easy as reseting the emc to make it understand it's cold out now?

Also the car dies once and a while coming to a stop when you hold the clutch.

i don't really know how to fix this ...i just stay out of wot when it's cold out and s***...it's 48 degrees here in WI...and again today i got fuel cut cuz it's still too cold out...you can try to reset the ecu or ems if it works let me know otherwise stay out of WOT and don't boost over 4,000 rpm cuz fuel cut is not good for your engine block

If it's not wga related it could still be a vac/boost leak here and there. Beyond the the stock tune is pretty bad. I think there are a few Unichip air fuel controllers around the FS section that will help smooth everything out.

i'd rather invest my money into the splitsecond....but that is going to have to wait...cuz i am getting the turbolife fmic....boo yah

lol, this is the wastegate not working properly...hes probably hitting ~10 psi in really cold weather, which can cause it...or higher, which will cause it in any weather

axis: be careful, check your wastegate....it may not show a bad vacuum, but it could still be bad....fuel cut is never good and it should not happen at stock boost in any weather

mitsman: yes they make a unichip setup

solved the problem....turned my SRI into a CAI and no fuel cut ...happy as ****...ne ways car pulls like it has a fmic on it....i have driven teknic's car plenty of times and it pulls like his now...for now that is...so everybody take advantage of the cold air that we all call winter and try it out and see if it works for you

So all you did was install a CAI (cold air intake)?? Let me know the code I'm pulling is P0171 with the check engine light. Which says I'm running lean. More air in the motor would just make it worse if it won't add the fuel to compensate for the increase in air going to the motor.

check your maf, and make sure the entire intake pipe is sealed

if there is any kind of a loss or gain of air post the maf sensor you will not run right and will fuel cut

could be he had a leak post maf that he fixed when he went to CAI

no i didn't have a leak...i believe that it was just from all of the hot engine bay air and the mixture of cold air outside that was bogging my engine...during the summer time i ran sri and not problems..winter time with the sri = fuel cut...car pulls like a champ now with the cai during the winter

I have an ATP wastegate actuator, spiking to 8-9 PSI and settling at 7-7.5 PSI. It's 23 degrees here in Qubec and I do not have fuel cuts. My intake is stock though, but I have custom hardpipes. When I had the stock WGA and in 5 degrees weather, I did not have fuel cuts neither.

Not meaning to threadjack but i kind of have a similar issue with mine when i drive to work, and when im driving it home since i dont live far. if i let it warm up completly it works fine.
its kind of a violent buck between 3-4k

cai isn't going to solve those problems

what are your mods, how is the status of your wastegate, and what are the general ambient temperatures outside during these cold issue startup problems

nah, because his issues go away after the car has warmed up and are present when the car is cold...making the intake air temperatures cooler at cold-start is not going to have positive effects if he is having issues with cold-start already

this car should not buck or stutter in ANY temperature unless it is a huge extreme...when you run lean is the only time it should be bucking or stuttering, and when you run lean you are running hotter than normal not cooler (which switching to a CAI isn't going to change that very much during cold start) as well as running too much air...which a cai is going to only help improve

there's something else going on here, but it all depends on his mods and how extreme the symptoms are, I'm going to guess wastegate because 99% of the time it is that on these cars until it has been replaced

what will happen is ill just be driving along normal and once teh boost comes on, it bucks pretty hard and goes back to normal with the boost right after after.
the car is bone stock from what i can tell. doesnt do it once warm at all. if i give it a good warm up it works perfectly. this morning i let it idle for a few minutes to clear the windshield and it didnt do it, but i was being a lot more careful about keeping out of boost.

temp was like 2 c this morning. pretty chilly i guess.

I dont think it would be the wastegate unless they dont like the cold. friend said it might be a vac leak. there is a hiss up near the TB my p5 didnt make.

what does fuel cut feel like? or running lean? imkindanew to this stuff.
