ok does anyone know if i will have a problem running a wheel with a 40mm offset running 205/40/17 tires? i will use spoolin springs eventually.......it for the mp3..........(2thumbs)

this information is from our true resident expert.....and it also happens to be posted in the very top thread in this forum....for future reference....

these are the REQUIRED offsets to run with NO RUBBING for the P5, the Sedan can run 2 to 3 mm less offset.

215/40/17; 215/35/18 <-- tire size you are wanting to run
-------------
7.0" +45 and higher <---- wheel width
7.5" +48 and higher

205/40/17
-------------
7.0" +42 and higher; Barely making it
7.5" +48 or higher, the +45 still worries me with this width on a 205.

SO.....pick the tire size you want......and the width of the wheel.....subtract 2 or 3 from the above numbers and you have the REQUIRED offset to KNOW you won't rub.....

SO....IF you have wheels with a width of 7 inches....the answer is yes...they will work.

damn ok......so it would be ok right? i am a newbie at this wheel stuff.....i am slow ok........

what is the WIDTH of the wheels you are going to be using?

IF you are going to be getting wheels that are 7 inches wide then YES they will be okay....

IF you are getting wheels that are 7.5 inches wide...then NO, it won't be okay....you will need a +45 for 7.5's

they will be 7in wide.......mister nuke....... thank you sir for getting me straight on this matter........(rockon) (2thumbs)
lock it if you want...
