+40 offset, will it work?

Guys, I'm looking for a winter tire and wheel combo. I found a 17" wheel I really like from Tirerack. It could serve as a winter and track wheel as it's very lightweight, however the ET is 40. Tirerack recommends a fender roll, which I won't do. Will this aggressive fitment work with no rub? If not what's the most aggressive ET I could go with, 44 or 45? BTW, it's a 17 by 7 wheel and weighs 17 lbs. Edit: Tires are (will be) 215/50/17, stock suspension

Thanks a bunch

I'm not an expert on this, but I know the first questions you're going to be asked are:
What tire size? Are you lowered?

Suspension will play a role as well. I'm on 18x8 +40 with 215/45. No roll in the rear and I don't rub. I am on BC coils and have a Cobb RSB.

PS: rear camber is -2.5
