I remember reading a while back that somoene is selling a 3" turbo back exhaust.. I cannot seem to find that post.. Anyone know the post I'm refering too???

Magnus Motorsports supposedly has one. It's like $1050 or something....

It's only close to $1000 when you're paying in CAD.

Around $600USD, check their website.
I think it's magnusmotorsports.com

Our 3" turbo-back will be available for ~$1000US which includes a hi-flow cat, and full 3" SS piping. Our down-pipes will also be ceramic coated to help keep heat away from the other components. The rear section will be available in either stainless or our Carbon Fiber series mufflers (optionally).

suttonschinook - in ~ 1 month tops. It will be a true turbo-back, it will actually replace everything right after turbo (including the casted portion of the down-pipe)

mspeedpro - no CEL's will be thrown. If it's anything like our Subaru systems, they'll pass the sniffer test just fine :)

We had our Subaru turbo-backs sniff tested @ a CARB ref station in Cali, and it passed with flying colors. Being that you're in TX, you won't have to worry about CARB, only the federal emissions.

muy bueno, i know im hella-noob but how often do i have to actually pass emissions test? every year i get inspection?

Because, it takes half an hour to put an already made exhaust on as opposed to dealing with a jerk and a few days lay-up at a muffler shop. Duh.

spoolboy - depending on what configuration you end up choosing, it'll be between $1350CAD - up (the CF rear canister is the more expensive one, it only weighs ~ 2lbs)

Ion, I know you haven't set pricing yet but I'm wondering if you have a ballpark figure for the exhaust and the carbon muffler. Thanks, Evan

I dunno, that sounds pretty damned expensive. And I can tell you that there are good performance shops out there who won't be a dick to you when you are the one giving them paying work.

Still, I'll be sure to pay attention when people start buying Ion's new turboback exhaust. If the numbers look good, I'll buy.

Ion, I have a couple questions. Is your 3" Turbo back system fully mandrel bent? How does it hang? Does it include all the necessary hardware to mount? Does the system fit the MSP well, or does it hang low? Lastly, how does it sound? Does it retain the stock sound, or is it ricey sounding? Does it drone?

Sorry about all the questions, I'm very picky about my exhausts...

Uh ok, I'm not sure what muffler shop that you've been going to, but a competent exhaust shop should have no problem fabing up a 3 inch exhaust for the protege. The one's in my area don't have any problems.

Who says that all mechanics at shops are jerks? I happen to know a few that are very reputable.. Anyways.. Would you really mind waiting a couple of days to save a couple of hundred bucks? There aren't many turbobacks for the MSP right, and it looks like custom is a good way to go.. I know a shop that did a full 3" turboback on my friend's 240 rb20det for 190.. Good quality. Anyways, my friend with a MSP is thinking about doing this with a universal muffler .. total should be slightly less than 400 bucks.. I'll let u know.. I'm not sure how beneficial the gains will be from it, but I'm sure it'll help quite a bit.
