3 in a row for Schumi! * in Bahrain - first time F1 has raced in Middle East

Michael Schumacher is headed to his 7th Formula One World Championship. I doubt he will be denied.

Oh Sorry! I thought this was a forum that liked the most elite of Motorsports. I guess, I was mistaken.

But; for your information.....a Formula One car can...
... accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just over 2 seconds.
... Go from 0 to 100 mph in about 4 seconds.
... Go from 0 to 130 mph back to 0 in less than 8 seconds.

doesn't look like anyone can get close to the guy.... the ones' who were supposed to beat him, well let's not talk about it....

oh and the specs AGR gave are about accurate, when the engines hold up.

You know, don't get me wrong (seeing that my lineage is from Italy)...but this dominance has got to stop, one way or another. I don't think that this can be all that good for the sport ("Ho hum, Ferrari and Schumi have won again..." ).

dr_"F1 fan, and tifoso since 1976"_sarcasm.

It's not just ferrari...it's a lot about shumi...last race the toyotas and hondas also had a good showing. But other teams have new cars, or are entirely new to the arena...like BMW, I believe.

Anywho...is it a surprise that Shumi won...again? I mean, seriously...that man can drive.

for sure he can drive, but look at the others, bmw is supposed to have the most powerful engine on the grid, looks like antonia screwed up big time with that nose of hers, mercedes aren't reliable despite having a very good car...plus they have raikonnen. basically schumi's winning cause the others simply aren't there (ie it's just a field day for him...)

Yeah...it's funny, because the ferraristas weren't as fast as Montoya was in Malaysia...but Schumi could put it on just enough to keep the BMW behind. But notice the results of the past 3 races...Button in the Honda finished 3rd in both. It seems like he's finally getting to where he needs to be. Unfortunately, it's not just Schumi he has to deal with...it's Barichello as well. He finished 4th behind Button last race and 2nd this race...the ferraris are reliable, fast and just have awesome drivers and teams. Honda will be fighting it out more with the Renaults, it seems.

As for Rikknen, three races, zero results...this was supposed to be his huge season...now he's out of it. The McLaren he's driving is a freakin' POS, apparently.

AGR: You this on the wrong Board. The idiots on this Board are concerned about 1/4 mile times and dumb s*** like that. They could care less about F1 -or anytype of motorsports where a curve is involved.

There is a very small percent of individuals on this Board who will find this thread interesting, sorry.

I'm a big F1 fan, but I'm getting very bored of it. In fact, I haven't watched a single F1 race this season. Your post is exactly why: F1 has turnned into a joke, a Schumacher Show.

Bernnie needs to do something quick, because I (like many US F1 fans) are starting to find NASCAR much more fun to watch. There is passing, suspense and -shock- an unkown winner at the end of the race!!!

If I'm to watch F1 again, Bernnie needs to mix it up a bit:
1. Two short sprint races instead of one long one.
2. Reversed running order.
3. Points for every lap run in any position.
4. Points for qualifying.
5. Placing MS in a Toyota or an Arrows (thats see how good he really is).
6. LESS DOWNFORCE ie. no wings.
7. Bring back the Turbo engines (nothing cooler then making 1,200 horses outa a 4 banger).

Any other ideas to make F1 worth watching again? I'm spent and find no reason to wake up at 4am to watch "hot lapping" (in F1 terms: A race).

you know, if they brought back the 1.5L turbo regulations i don't think it's going to be anywhere under 1500hp. that number you gave were from 1988, last turbo year. can the cars handle that much power??

I forgot one. Clone Aryton Senna so "he" can show MS what a real driver is capable of.
Senna was great. No question. I was watching the San Marino G.P. (ESPN) on May 1st, 1994, when he died. I will never forget that. Not so sure, he was any better than M. Schumacher. One of those debates that could last forever. It would have been a great, great, rivalry had he lived.

I don't know much about F1, as I just started getting into it. But it does annoy me that MS is winning every race, and his team mate seems to always be close behind. I watched the Baharain race last night, and I found it alot more interesting when they would show the battle for 7th or 8th. It got boring watching MS just driving around by himself uncontested.

I'm nearly 50 yrs. old. I love Formula One, and I always have. Most of these other teams have bottomless budgets, like Ferrari. They need to step it up a notch or two. There are no excuses, in my opinion; if they want to fight for the top, and really play the game.

Ferrari's F1 budget is between $300-400 million annually, by the way.

In Formula 1, a lot goes on in the field throughout the race. Some really good battles! I have seen it 'live', and it is amazing. And; there is nothing quite like the start of a Formula 1 race.

Now; for close wheel to wheel action; give me the IRL (closest racing in the world right now), and Champ Car. I also love Sports Car racing. ALMS and Grand Am. And yes; WRC. I have little use for Nascar.

yeah...unfortunately the season is basically over (i'm a pecimist and a big kimi fan)...it just sort of gets boring after a while watching michael win all the time...but of course you can't blame him having the best car out there...i would do the same...no doubt about it that michael is the absolute best driver out there and ferrari has the best car...but i would at least like to see a bit of a challenge or something close like last year...just for everybodies information michael's last dnf was back in 2001...kimi is 3 for 3 this year...

poor lil rubinho has strict orders to remain behind MS... i think everyone remembers the disgrace in hungary. thing is even if barrichello tried, i don't think he'd make it past ms...

Yeah! Shumacher is THAT Good! And; let's not even talk about rain. When that happens, few can get close to him. He is simply awesome in the wet (as was Senna).

I would love to see some of the CART and IRL drivers drop into the F1 cars...I mean, F1 has one race in the US at Indy, why not make it an invitational...all of the best racers in the world, to crown one champion. F1 vs IRL vs CART (champ cars) vs NASCAR. They could maybe ven out the playing field a bit by using similar cars, like the Formula BMW series.

It's funny, but there was an article a month or two ago in the F1 magazine (from the UK) that suggested that for F1 to survive, MS should retire now, given that he has nothing left to prove. Suggested areas for MS to concentrate his skills on were the IRL and OWRS (a.k.a. CART), or even NASCAR to prove his metal (they drew parallels with other notable greats who did the exact same thing e.g. Mario Andretti, etc.).

dr_"oooooooooo bring back turbo"_sarcasm.
