I have a 2007 Mazda3 I-Touring 2.0L 5 speed sedan.
I recently blew the third gear synchronizer and third gear itself (entire repair paid for under my extended warranty thankfully - new snychronizer, new third gear etc). I remember reading somewhere that this is a common breakdown for the Mazda3 sedan.
Even with a brand new synchronizer and third gear, my car just does not like to shift from 2nd to 3rd at anything over 4,000 RPMs. 3,000 and under its happy. 3,000-4,000 it starts to take a little effort and I can really feel it when I shift. 4,000-6,000 and it feels almost like its going to blow the synchronizer again. And its only the shift from 2nd to 3rd when I have such difficulty - not a problem making any other shifts. Hard to redline it because of this problem (drive2)
Anyone else having this problem??? (uhm)
Would the installation of a short shifter help at all????
Thanks for the feedback
