2nd map clamp is a go!

i just installed mine, boost cut is done, however today i threw a code for the map sensor. I can only raise the boost to 12.3 according to my DH, cant go any higher.

Isn't your Dashhawk reading the computer? The computer is being faked out by the clamp...

yea i know that, but i cant adjust it to higher than 12.3, im using my dh as the voltage meter. My boost guage reads 17-18

Okay, wasn't quite clear there. I thought you were quoting the actual boost, not the setting you were shooting for with the clamp. Is 12.3 what the Dh is telling you the boost is, which is what the clamp is holding at? If not, what voltage source specifically are you reading with the Dh that is 12.3?

Of the few with map clamps, does everyone get a CEL ? Loosh, I'm assuming you have a CEL since you threw the code? What map clamp did you install? Was gonna order mine today ... just curious..

Question on the installation. Do you have to cut any wires or do you just shave off a spot and solder the connection? Thanks.

The DH reads the map, Since i installed the clamp the DH read only the clamped value and nothing else. The second i turn the key to on the DH reads 12.3, if i turn the screw clockwise its LOWERS THE BOOST. If i turn the screw counter clockwise it raises the boost which is ass backwards of what its suppose to be. I went over the install and its installed correctly

Signal = 2ag
Power = 2au
Ground = 2av

I didnt solder it in, i just twisted the tiny wire inbtwn the ecu harness, made it tight and taped it down. Maybe my map clamp is faulty. However, my boost cut is gone....im lost here

btw all 3 wires are located on the same harness. the power and ground are on the same line right by each other, ones is towards the end of the harness, the other is towards the middle of the harness. The signal is the 3rd one over on the opposite outside part of the harness.

Can someone explain the differences between map clamps that get wired in like Loosh's (no cutting) & the one Driver has that you need to clip (cut) the signal wire from the Map? I've found both kinds online and wonder if there is a difference... tkx, Mike

the one that drive has has to cut one wire because u can adjust it without driving the car....thats the only differenct. These spice in map clamps can only be adjusted while you're flooring it to see where you are. make a correction, and floor it again...rinse and repeat till your happy

dasmopar is just like mine. i got the knock off version from ebay, but it is 100% identicle. something is not right with yours for sure. when i turn mine clockwise it will raise the voltage to the ECU. some thing aint right. off the top of my head all i remember is the 5V+ wire is green/brown
the signal wire is white/green........and the ground was brown/green.
i'm sure you will figure it out, good luck bud.

them dumb bastards ! well what are your results now ? any cut ? what boost are you holding ? spill the beans.......

holding 18 psi on the stock boost control...how? Dont ask me but it does it lol
no fuel cut what so ever. 4-5 shift at 6200 rpm it shoots to about 21 and hold 19 till about 5800 and by 6200 its at 17, once again, running stock boost. This ets tmic is unreal(bow)

as for the dasmopar it came with 3 wires

red,green,black
i assumed red was power, green was signal, and black was ground

in reality red was signal, green was ground, and black was power <---a fucken idiot color coded this thing

Hmmm. So I got my Map Clamp and in my Office I hooked up a 5v power connection and manually set my Map Clamp to clamp at 3.7Volts.

If I hook this up to my car, will it be plug and play or will I have to tune it like you did Laloosh? I have a Map Clamp that is like your and not like Drivers. What you think?

What Volt did you set yours at?

sweet ! i am getting a cdfp one way or another very soon. my TRZ intercooler should be here soon too....mods, mods, mods, i cant wait. it looks like i get to prototype another TBE too. i have been a lost soul since i sold you my other one !!

Ah. I will use my DH as well then. Did you download the Mazda Specific PIDs from the DH Tech Forum? They have a lot of Pids for us.

I made a couple runs and I was surprised to see Knock in the 4300-5500RPM range. The Max I saw was like 1.2 Retard but still, thats the point where I stutter.

you should be able to plug and play from that point. i was just too impatient to to it that way, good thinking ahead.
