I'm debating between the mazdaspeed and borla cat backs but I havent talked to anyone with borla yet.

yes right above the rear axel.
Is Borla made in japan?
Remember our cars are tru JDM you may want to keep it that way as much as possible

That might make it more difficult to do myself...

Should I send back my TWM short shifter and bushings because they are canadian? Wouldnt a "tru" JDM be RHD?

What does it matter where the parts are made if they perform well.

It's your call.
Our cars are limited production JDM (for usa) means that all parts are made in Japan 100% build in Japan the only reason why the are not RHD is because the traffic laws on the USA, all things made in Japan specialy cars are the very best.
Most ppl wouldn't want to have canadian, german etc on it.

It's like dogs, if you have a pure german shepard that took hundred of years of breading and you go ahead and want to mix it with a french puddle
(although canadian parts would be more compare too a street mot LOL).
It may be a good looking dog and be smart and perform well it wouldn'n matter to you. However on the dog world is no good in value or purity.
The same thing on our cars, for someone that know them well it would be as valuable.

Compare prices and quality with Honda cars;
Most honda cars are made in Canada or USA with only 20% japanese parts look at the prices and the manufacturing quality compare to Acura that are mostly Japanese.
It's a big difference in price and quality.

I often laught at the guys that spend way to much money on JDM parts to put on their cars made in America.
It's realy a waste of money.
The reverse analogy here is a guys trying to mix a street mot with a german shepard (canada)

And to cut your stock muffler just go ahead and buy an electric hack saw from the home Depo it cut's like butter, you can always take it back
(minus the saw blade $5.00)
It' was very easy it took me about 2 hours.

I see your point, I guess since I don't really plan on selling the car anytime soon it doesn't make much of a difference to me, but unlike a dog I will be able to keep the stock parts and put it back to factory if I do plan on selling it down the road.

Thats not a bad install time, did you have a lift or just up on jack stands?

Ok, once I got the image of "breading" a dog out of my head (do you plan on deep-frying it?), I still have a problem with both your analogy and your logic. So, if I have a car that is good looking and performs well, it has no value in the car world if it's not pure? This is bunk.

And I think most people are very happy with the build quality of their US built Hondas. According to JD Power Initial Quality Ratings for 2008, Honda rates well above Acura, so I'm not buying that part of your argument either.

Congratulations on your dyno numbers. Just be careful with that intake, you might hydrolock if you hit a french puddle.

to bad injen is a California company.. your intake was made in the USA by a USA company.. taken from injen's sight.

"INJEN TECHNOLOGY - A DECADE OF INNOVATION
For over a decade Injen Technology Co. Ltd and our sister company has played a major roll in the design and development of air intake systems. Injen Technology is based out of California in the same city and just a few miles away from the famous Pomona Winter Nationals Top Fuel Raceway. Injen Technology's history is a classic success story of a small manufacturing company turned industry leader of aftermarket performance products.
What most people do not know is that Injen's sister company, RD Metal Works established in 1981, was actually designing and manufacturing air intake kits for leading air filter and intake manufacturers since the mid 1990's. Absorbing the experience, design capabilities and quality standards of RD Metal Works, Injen Technology was formed. In 1998, we embarked on a never-ending quest to brand our own name and set new standards of quality and performance while
constantly striving to improve our own engineering capabilities. Bringing together all phases of manufacturing under
one roof proved to be the equation for unrivaled success.

Injen Technology has made it a point to stay at the forefront of performance technology making only the best air intake one can envision. In 1999 Injen was faced with such a strong demand in both US and Canada that in order to meet production schedules it became essential to branch out and add a second building.
In 2003, Injen Technology launched our Super SES stainless steel cat-back exhaust systems complimenting our line of air intake systems. Each exhaust system was equipped with the Injen signature style slanted mufflers and featured highly polished stainless steel.
In the fall of 2005, Injen Technology announced the arrival of The SP Air Intake System. The SP series was equipped with MR Technology launching the World's First Tuned air intake systems. In the winter of 2005, Power Flow was introduced with MR Technology and an all new Power Box. This was another leap forward for Injen Technology, launching the company into the largest of the automotive market segments; Truck, SUV and High Performance Automotive. The new product line was displayed for the first time at the 2005 SEMA show and won the International Product Award. The Power Flow series has received rave reviews from both existing customers plus our newly targeted market of jobbers and warehouse distributors.
April 2008, Injen launched the companies latest product line; the Diesel Power-Flow . Once again Injen set new industry standards by incorporating the first Power-On-Demand air intake system with Vi Technology and with a removable stainless steel Pre-Filter. In conjunction with the launch of the diesel line, Injen also announced the Co/Branding partnership with AMSOIL, Inc. Injen and AMSOIL teamed up to incorporate an Injen/AMSOIL High Performance dry media into the new Power-Flow diesel air intake applications and the Power-Flow gas models. Both Injen and AMSOIL will market the Power-Flow series of air intake systems. As in the past, Injen continues to set the industry bench mark for innovation, styling and technology.
With such an enthusiastic response for our new products we anticipate solid sales growth within all market segments. Our innovative designs, high performance standards and quality workmanship will pave the path for our continued success for years to come. At Injen Technology we are committed to World Class Customer Service. "

highly respected and highly powered evos use parts made in the USA.... AMS? Buscher? and some of the better handling evos use german parts... KW? JIC?

its true the fastest evo on tsukuba used JDM parts but they're tuned for JAPANESE tracks and roads that are the smoothest of the smooth. here in US our roads arent smooth as glass.

and honestly a catback is a catback. as long as its a full 3 inch it'll perform the same way.
