25k Miles 2 Mods 270 whp 280 Lbs Torque

Just like i said befofe it's a personal preference.
You do what you want with your car.

Injen it's the best option cause mazdaspeed discontinued theirs,About hydrolock, it won't happen it's not my first rodeo not my only car
I just happen to own a civic as well a very fast one!
All custom hand made exhaust, manifold etc.

Will eat Evos for lunch at the track

I know cars I could care less about spelling bees

I see your point, I guess since I don't really plan on selling the car anytime soon it doesn't make much of a difference to me, but unlike a dog I will be able to keep the stock parts and put it back to factory if I do plan on selling it down the road.

Thats not a bad install time, did you have a lift or just up on jack stands?

I used two big jacks and lifted about 3' high a bit unconfortable but it wasn't hard at all.
just got to be carefull taking the tail pipe and installing the new one so you won't get dents on the under carriage, i'm just anal about stuff like that

Ok, once I got the image of "breading" a dog out of my head (do you plan on deep-frying it?), I still have a problem with both your analogy and your logic. So, if I have a car that is good looking and performs well, it has no value in the car world if it's not pure? This is bunk.

And I think most people are very happy with the build quality of their US built Hondas. According to JD Power Initial Quality Ratings for 2008, Honda rates well above Acura, so I'm not buying that part of your argument either.

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/04/j-dd-power-releases-2008-initial-quality-study/

Congratulations on your dyno numbers. Just be careful with that intake, you might hydrolock if you hit a french puddle.

coming from a guy with just CAI and an oil cap from an MS3 + 10 whp (uhm)
I'll take your word for it. NOT!

Spelling aside...none of the rest of your arguments make any sense at all. Ignore the fact that you thought you had a JDM intake. I guess "Injen" sounds sort of Japanese. Ignore the fact that you throw out an inaccurate blanket assessment of quality, which I refuted. (crazy)

So, to summarize, yes you have 2 nice cars. However, bolting on parts and paying someone to tune your cars does not necessarily equate to "knowledge." Multiple people refute your claims that you should only use JDM parts to keep a vehicle pure, because just looking good and performing good is not enough (huh?).

Now, back to the spelling. I think most people will agree I took it easy on you. And be careful, I'm also a grammar nazi. I'll be watching. No, really, just having fun. Bored at work. If only someone would set something on fire...

Exaclty how do you know that?
You are assumming too much.
You don't know me at all.
I never said that Injen was Japanise, if you pay attention and read
(Injen cai is the best alternative as Mazdaspeed discontinued theirs)
Injen has being my sponsor since 2003 so AEM and NX jackass

This are hardly bolt on parts.
don't open your mouth till you know what and who you are talking too. Son
However you look at it I know way more than you, installing a CAI and an oil cap on a 2006 car doesn't make you an expert.
I even doubt that you install it your self.
No wonder what you use spelling as a security blanket, stick to it, let the car business to ppl that knows.

ASS U ME spell that!

Agreed, stop jacking my thread.
If I could I'll b**** slap him with a dictionary (lol)

Jeez, I hope all this didnt start because I wanted to know the comparison between mazdaspeed and borla exhaust...

Back on topic, are you sticking with those two mods or do you have any other plans?

na, you are good F the hatters, you are stating your opinions and I'm stating mine.
there is a way to have a difference of opinion using tact, and respecting others point of view.
I'm not going to get nasty on you for not using JDM parts.
You do what's best for you.
And if you spell sweet instead of sweat, so what, I know what you meant.

Now back to cars!

I'm watting for Sniper a local company that is developing sofware for the MS3 computer to perfect it before we can get into the serious engine modifying.
I'm just going for some cosmetic items next like wheels, CF hood and stuff like that.
I'm certified AEM EMS tunner but Greg Nakano sofware developer from AEM has no plans and making a stand alone for the MS3 although we made a good argument to the fact last time we where in Cali visiting the plant.

This is my daily driver and I dont have the money to get into serious engine modifying but its nice to see more companies are starting to develop stuff for these cars, maybe someday I'll be able to afford it. Did AEM say why they didnt want to make a stand alone for it?

It's your call.
Our cars are limited production JDM (for usa) means that all parts are made in Japan 100% build in Japan the only reason why the are not RHD is because the traffic laws on the USA, all things made in Japan specialy cars are the very best.
Most ppl wouldn't want to have canadian, german etc on it.

It's like dogs, if you have a pure german shepard that took hundred of years of breading and you go ahead and want to mix it with a french puddle
(although canadian parts would be more compare too a street mot LOL).
It may be a good looking dog and be smart and perform well it wouldn'n matter to you. However on the dog world is no good in value or purity.
The same thing on our cars, for someone that know them well it would be as valuable.

Compare prices and quality with Honda cars;
Most honda cars are made in Canada or USA with only 20% japanese parts look at the prices and the manufacturing quality compare to Acura that are mostly Japanese.
It's a big difference in price and quality.

I often laught at the guys that spend way to much money on JDM parts to put on their cars made in America.
It's realy a waste of money.
The reverse analogy here is a guys trying to mix a street mot with a german shepard (canada)

LOL. Wow dude. Trying to follow your logic. You agree with Shane and then you post a complete contradiction to what he was posting. None of my posts have attacked you personally; I made a couple of good-natured jokes about your spelling ( if I had wanted to I could have come into "your" thread and just flamed you on it but I stayed on topic), and I patently disagreed with an analogy you made. You getting nasty doesn't make you right---it's ludicrous to state that a JDM vehicle will either perform better or be worth more with only Japanese parts. You can't put that out there and not expect people to disagree. Kind of like saying the sky is green. Glad you enjoy your cars so much. It may shock you to know that I grew up with a motorhead father and have turned a few wrenches (and busted a few knuckles) in my day ("son", haha). My Speed6 is a complete departure for me from the high displacement vehicles I am used to, so I am a bit of a convert and have learned a lot from this forum. I've also helped out a few people with my observations. My car is also a compromise---it's sporty enough near stock that I am satisfied with its performance so that I don't feel tempted to spend all my money (firefighter---underpaid, but the job's got other perks) and the kids get to go to private school---you know, for the whole spelling thing.

Curious why you didn't use an AEM intake if they are your sponsor and they actually make the Mazdaspeed intake (at least for the MS6).

I think it's because AEM makes the MazdaSpeed CAI.

Those are some nice cars dude. I have the MS3 myself and love it. I have the MS CAI and some other little goodies but am thinking of the exhaust (MazdaSpeed as well) as a sound mod. I know it's only supposed to give me like 5hp but who cars, this car is pretty damn fast as it is. :)

If you ever come around Tampa, let me know...I would like to check out that Civic (nana)

Not enough interest for it as of last year but that may change.
I wouldn't get into engine mods just yet, the engine internals are too new to mess with. plus it takes a lot of down time on your car.

AEM used to make it, they recalled because some dumb ass kids went too deep on a puddle and hydroloock their motors so Mazda re- called, But I like to get my hands on one.
AEM is forviden to make them or give them out in any way or form.
Injen is dyno tested so I prefered that.
We usually make our own at Gato's shop in Kissimmee but material is expensive and have no time.

Although we have plans for making the piping for the front mount intercooler

Are you going to Mazdasummerpalooza?
If I can get my partner to drive the vic I'll take it over.

Oh Oh You wrote cars instead or cares watch out LOL
