A similar event happened to me one night - at the time I was pretty mute as far as attending social functions. The one time I went out, a friend rented out a social hall for a Halloween party. He's an older guy and to raise enough money, he had to invite a crowd of younger teenagers to assure the cover would be enough to break even.
Turns out when they left, a number of the teenagers got into a fight outside the social hall. Cops were called and a couple of them were arrested for various small charges.
I didn't notice until the next day that my rear driver's side door had a huge paintless dent in it. Apparently they'd used my car to play Royal Rumble against. So I figure, these kids got arrested...piece of cake, right?
Well...apparently since nobody deliberately mentioned anyone getting thrown into my car/etc in any statements given, there was nothing that could be done about it. I couldn't even get them to give me the offender's names. Talk about frustrating when you could have had a possible answer in your hands.
So I did what anyone would do. I waited til the paintless dent removal guy set up shop at the carwash I used to work at...put on my sweatshirt with the carwash logo, took the car up, told him I worked there, and had him fix it for an employee price of $20. It never got totally fixed correctly, but it could have been worse for $20.
I hope for the best on your P5's recovery
