If you are close, please come out for the 24-hour event hosted by the CCR-SCCA.
The event is at Continental Tire facility in Charlotte, NC on september 1-2.
You can participate for 12 hours or all 24 (registration and tech will be open at various points throughout the weekend).

Lets get as many Mazdas out there as we can---it will be a blast!

event info and registration link here: http://ccrscca.proboards51.com/index.cgi?board=solo2&action=display&thread=1186141590

Hope to see you there!

Split your weekend up and run with two great NC autoX clubs. TSCC will be in Danville all weekend running at the airport.

I know of a few people that will be doing both events. I will only be able to make it to Danville, unfortunately. One of the downsides to being a club President.

24 hour autocross? That is sweet! I want to do it. Burn through my Kumhos in one day :D

Oh my. I've been wanting to attend this for a few years now, but always miss the date. I'll see if i can find a few craptacular tires and attend.

lol. this will be my first 24 hour event. (it's my 1st season with this region).
I got some "lightly used" hoosier A6s a few months back and i am keen on making them last as long as i possibly can.

the catch at this event is you only get about 5-6 official runs, but as many practice runs as you want. BUT you need to announce your "official runs" at the starting line. So that makes things interesting.

Personally i don't plan on taking more than 10 or so runs.

You've got it all wrong. You take at least two wheel sets, one with your r-comps, and another with a set of $30 wally world specials. Run the crap out of the cheapo tires, then take your runs that count. At least that's the way I'd do it :). That would equate to some awsome seat time as well as learning to drive in crappy conditions.

i'm afraid i don't have the budget for that.
I have some Toyo T1-Rs on my OEM rims, and the A6s are on my race rims.

No way i'd buy ANOTHER set of rims with crap tires just for this event----and i'm not running the toyos either....my goal is to not have to replace them before i sell the car in another 1.5 years or so.

I remember that Justin. You got to drive my P5 after that and blew my time away. LOL

I remember that now. I think I drove that, a Type R, and a STi before I figured it was time to go home and start engine swap #4. Good thing though...the new motor made 9-10 more whp than the old one.
