Hey all. I just picked up a set of near-new Dunlop snow tires for my Mazda6. I have the stock 17x7 rims on it. The snow tires are 215/55/17. Do you see any problems running this slightly taller tire? The stock size is 215/50/17. The difference is about 3%.

well I just posted on your other thread

I guess if you already have the 55-series tires, might as well try

I personally would not go with that tall of a tire, but you may be fine

Thanks for the help! I know on both situations that I posted, I am borderline on each one. I just got an awesome deal on these snow tires, I couldn't pass it up. Maybe I'll put these on the new 17x8's, that should fit a little better, right?

Edit...reading your other post, it will still be borderline. Hmmm...I have some deciding/trying to do.

Maybe slightly, because more sidewall will let it stretch more than a 50-series.

I got the tires installed this weekend. They fit....barely. The right rear is about 1/8 of an inch away from the inner fender liner, but it doesn't rub at all. Other than that, they fit well and I like the look of the taller sidewall.
