205/40/17 re750 cheap!!

The euro tuning shop that my tires are getting shipped to will have them tomorrow, but my appointment to get them mounted, balanced, and to get my car aligned isn't until May 17th.

Those guys ship fast... I got all 4 tires the next day with the cheapest shipping option.

I just need to get them mounted & balanced + an allignment... like KanseiZM.

I have two MXs up front, a fairly bald MX in the rear, and an ASX with maybe 1k miles on it also in the rear. Add to that a disconnected front sway bar (struts, endlinks replaced, but I need to drill out the holes in the sway bar to re-attach.

wtf? what a mess....

no offence:p

I have 5 wheels, and the ASX was mounted on the 5th when I got a blowout the day after getting the MXs mounted. The reason for going with an ASX was that I had to drive back home the day after the blowout and didn't have time for the place to order a tire so I paid 180 for the ASX (ARGH). I got the ASX mounted on the rim that I had the blowout on as it has some scratches on the edge, and bought a new wheel and MX. Fast forward to one year later, and I have a bubble in the sidewall on one MX (not on the car now though, that's why I have the ASX back on), they are all bald on the inside, two of them are nearly bald on the outside, and one of the ones that isn't bald has a nail in it, hence buying these Potenzas.

It is a mess and I'm just crying to clean it up and get my car back to 100%. To accelerate the process I think I may have the shop that is doing my alignment drill out the holes in my front swaybar and toss my new endlinks on.

ugh I just got my rebate form from Tirerack today.

Um. You have to mail them proof of mounting the tires, and it all has to be postmarked by May 20th. Um, wow I'll be cutting it close. I think I might go to the place that is mounting my stuff on the 17th to ask them if I can just pay them now and get a receipt for the rebate so that I can make sure I get it out.

And bridgestone wants all original receipts so I'll have to buy a new cartridge for my copier and make copies of everything.

I'm confused? these would fit the stock MSP racing harts? And also where do you guys go to get them mounted and balanced? everywhere i have checked with says if i don't buy the tires through them they'll "charge an arm and a leg" (a few places actually said this). I've been wanting to order some tires online but w/ mounting and blancing costs it isn't even close to worth it.

www.tirerack.com
Parada Spec 2's
$74 for 205/40-17's
$94 for 205/45-17's <--- I just bought some of these, now if my rims would ever arrive.

Tirerack has authorized installers that you can have the tires shipped to, and they'll have rates listed on the tirerack site.. Define "an arm and a leg". I'm paying 27.50 a tire for mounting, disposal of the old tire, and metal low profile valve stems, but the place is a very reputable tuning shop (they have a BMW race team) that I know will do a good job with that and the alignment I'm getting done at the same time.

I guess it wasn't that much based on what you are paying. Maybe it just feels like a lot when you're broke. haha. so what's your total going to be?
63 x 4 = 252 - $50 rebate + (27.50 x 4) + ship ($50) = ~$362 + tax? is that about right? b/c if it is that's a hell of a deal. Also these tires will fit the stock MSP racing harts?

Yeah they'll fit the stock racing harts but I think your stock size is a 45-series instead of a 40 series. Weird, because a 205/45 is quite a bit (over a full percentage point) larger than the stock P5 size.

Oh and.. I think shipping was only 36 dollars. Yeah it really isn't a bad price.

yeah the stock size on the racing harts is 215/45/17

so before i order some tires the 205/40/17 will fit the racing harts? i know you answered this but then i got confused with what you said after it. i don't know anything about tire sizes as far as what could fit. i just know what they recommend.

yes, they will!

I'm running 205/40R17's right now....but they're skinny as hell.

I'm not a big tire buff, so these will fit 17x7 rims no prob right?

Yeah they will fit. I have 215 on my 17x7 now and I'll be getting the 205s mounted in a couple weeks.
