2026 Mazda CX-5: Who’s actually getting one?

Yes the reaction to the new 2026 CX-5 has been less than ideal but for those of you who actually like it and don’t mind the controls, engine etc…Who is actually purchasing or planning to purchase one?

Let us know, are you looking for in stock, ordering one or waiting for the hybrid version? What color, trim level, options and accessories?
I purchased the 2026 CX5! It should be here any day.

It certainly is cost. With the new tariffs and CX5 tech addons it prob would have been priced at 45-46k or more. One can get a Lexus NX or other luxury cars more or less for upper 40s. Plus supporting two engines on the production line.

no turbo no dice. I am considering trading my 2023 cx5 turbo on a new 2025 CX5 turbo tho just because I like the 2023 so well. I figure that would give me two extra good years.....altho when I think about it probably a waste of money lol.
I have a 2014 lol. Your 2023 will be fine unless there are features in the 2025 you want that you don't have, then it's totally not worth it just to have a "newer same car".

oh I know it is crazy as we bought it new in Jan of 2023 and it only has 43000 miles on it. It has been rare that I keep a vehicle that long and I have been buying new vehicles since 1977 :).

Could you please post some pictures with your new acquisition? I believe you would be the first owner of a 2026 CX-5 posting pics on this forum.
It's been gloomy and raining here for a couple days, so couldn't get any great pics, but here you go. I'm an avid mountain biker so we had the Mazda hitch installed before we brought it home. The Polymetal Gray Metallic changes quite a bit with whatever ambient light.

nice.

btw is that class II/III Mazda hitch?
hope they ditched the miniature one finally
I'm not sure about the different classes, but it's a 2" receiver. The Mazda part number is KLAK-V3-920 and it costs $445 if anyone is interested. Looks nice and tidy at the bumper. I don't need that pin for my particular bike rack so that will come off soon.

I do have to say, the "MAZDA" badging on the rear looks good.
I like it too, something different. A lot of online hate though. Somewhat amusing: The dealer's name was right under the Skyactive badge, it's actually separate letters sort of like the MAZDA badging, but I told them to take it off which they did. After the sale was complete we took it to service for the hitch install and when we came back the next day to pick it up the dealer's name was there again! Made them take that one off too.

It was one thing for dealers of ol' to install their license plate frames on new cars, but where they ever got the idea that it was OK to semi-permanently install their name/logo on the car's body I can't imagine!

Dealers have been plastering their logos on car bodies for ages. I remember them from at least the 1950's and probably long before that. I don't recall seeing the frame advertising from that era, although it probably also did exist back then...

Jeez that's annoying. That's the first thing I usually do as well. With my current car, they plastered a vinyl decal of their dealership name across the rear windshield. Thankfully it was easy to remove myself.

I sarcastically tell them I charge a $500 advertising fee & to deduct it on my paperwork. Even when I make them write NO DEALER ADVERTISING on the invoice they still do it. On my current CX-5 I refused to do the paperwork until they removed the vinyl logo to my satisfaction despite it being written on the invoice not to do so.
