2025 CX-5 vs New 2026 model!?

I recently traded in my 23 CX5 Na Premium for a 25 Premium Plus Na. There are several reasons we did this -cameras, etc - However after taking delivery of the vehicle- which only had 02 miles and I had not driven it - I found that the 25 had some very noticeable changes to the transmission , suspension and power delivery . It was extremely apparent Mazda tweaked the 25 - and after opening the hood -- IT even looked like the top end of the Turbo engine- After over 3000 miles and a month later its even more obvious.

#1 The suspension is less "jumpy " and picks up the road imperfections flawlessly - yet still has the firm grim when I roll into a turn- The the power delivery is seamless - It has literally no hiccups and pulls solid from anywhere near 0-60 - It seems faster - and the transmission is more sensitive whine I want it down a gear --its there - AS well no intermittent lunge when the torque converter is locking up on acceleration in 1st gear - So I waited and thought Mazda responded to many minor complaints about these systems --- and now it makes sense -- The 2026 has been redesigned -- and my guess here is that Mazda retweaked the 25 and the restyled the body on the 26 to match.

I’ve now seem pics of the 26 and they are only digital -- but the front end is not to my liking --- we shall see- If anyone else has had a comparison experience with the 25 after driving a 22,23,24 then please comment -- One things for sure they changed the intake and I will try to post the photo from my phone later --If You like the existing Body of the 2025 CX5--Get One NOW --because 26 is a whole new front and rear end --some may like it - I will post an image here of what I found on the 2026 pic.

So my conclusion is the 2025 has an updated driveline which will be in the 2026 -- and the 2026 has a new body design --Say Goodbye the that timeless design that was only marginally altered 2x - 2025 is it - Mazda says they lifted the design from other upper tier models they now offer --yikes!

Not according to this guy.

"After driving the 2025 Premium Plus for about 3 months and 2800 miles, I am pleased to report it has lost nothing from 2022 to 2025. It rides just as smooth, the engine is just as peppy, and fuel economy is nearly the same. Maybe economy is a hair down but it is winter so expected. The only difference between the 2022 and 2025 is the 2025 has i-stop. "

Suspension, intake - engine mapping and transmission have all been improved - Touchscreen now on 2025 as well- intake on my 2025-1/2 CX5 clearly upgraded from the previous 4 years - NOT a Turbo - na- a serious power delivery improvement

Someone photoshopped the design from the EZ-6. Not official.
Yes - if you read the op - its says the photo - is only digital - so yes we shall see - but it has been imprinted from the camo test cx5 photograhped on the road - one thing i will bet on - the body is going to change - significantly

Looks like changes, for sure, but doesn't look anything like the turbo. I guess they didn't wait for the new model to introduce some changes to the engine. Or, the engine was ready before the car.

Im not just blowing smoke here - cuz i got a new 25 - Im trying to tip off anyone considering one before the 26s roll out - On the 25 transmission - its so precise i literally have learned that incrimental adaptations to the gas pedal - deliver a consistent rapid predictable gear change like none before-its a scalpel once you learn it -.no more pushing hard to get tge lower gear -. -.My guess is this new collaboration with Toyota might be where Toyota gave Mazda some of this technology -as Toyota is using Mazdas inline -6 T for thier upcoming sports coupe -and Mazdas making the same car under thier name - For Toyota to take Mazdas inline -6 T - complete drivetrain for a leading new sports cars - says a hellova lot about Mazdas engineering - as well in the 26s Mazda hybrid drive are taken from Toyota - but still using skyactive engines/. big stuff -Mazdas will get expensive here very soon - 25 is a pivotal year -not unlike 2012-3 when skyactive launched - So the 25 CX5s are going to be - well the last of the old design -try to post mine here - might be to much pixels

as Toyota is using Mazdas inline -6 T for thier upcoming sports coupe
Everything about this is online theorycrafting at this point :)

But I agree. Mazda has great engineers and I'm sure the industry is well aware.

What I want to know is, can we get the 2025 TCU programming for our '23s.

By the way, your images are tough to post because they are actually small videos rather than still images.

Yes - My Iphone wouldn't reduce the file size enough to allow it to load -- But I was able to get the video file small enough to post if under 3 seconds --strange
