2021 Mazda CX-5 Oil Leak question

What could be causing this oil leak in my 2021 Mazda Cx-5?

As noted above it is likely the timing chain cover. I had the same leak on my 2018. It was repaired under the 5-year powertrain warranty. They screwed up the initial repair and 6 months later had to repair a leak on the valve cover.

I also had a warranty repair for timing cover on my ‘15. It still has the smallest of residual weeping to this day but I just clean it up once a year and hasn’t gotten any worse.

2.5L NA. About 73,000 miles
You’re out of powertrain warranty and out of luck unfortunately.

It looks like the front timing chain cover leak. Without warranty I suggest you just have to live with it and check thd oil level frequently.

The other location you want to check is the oil leak from top and the back side of cylinder head between cylinder #2 and #3 on your 2.5L NA with CD. That would be a major problem and hopefully your leak isn’t from there.

I got it on my '14 Mazda3 identified 2-3 yrs ago. (timing chain cover seepage)
My advice is: don't bother fixing it unless you see oil on the floor.
Just wipe it clean from time to time.
After 2-3 yrs, my Mazda3 still runs happily.
No oil on the floor.

Dealer wanted $1700 to do it for me.
In today's money, might be $2000, if not more.
