2021 CX-5 Passenger Window Switch Replacement

Hello All,

I have a 2021 Mazda CX-5 GT.

The passenger window switch works but sticks and is a pain cause if its not in the right position you cannot roll down the window from the drivers side.
I purchased a new window switch and am planning on installing it this weekend. I cant seem to find any information, videos, or how to information.

Using an interior trim tool I tried pulling on the area where the switch was and was able to pop out the bottom (near the door cup) but the back side closest to the panel wouldn't pop out and I didn't want to break any of the clips or that panel. So I figured id wait, research it and try again this weekend as I stated above.

Has anyone replaced the Passenger door window switch?
Any videos, pictures or any assistance would help me.

If I removed the entire door panel are the clips exposed for easier access to pop it out?

Any videos, pictures or info would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I think there is a screw in the armrest under a trim piece. I've never replaced the window switch but I think it is accessible when you get everything apart.
Breaking clips when you pop them out seems to be completely normal, I broke a few when I was installing sound deadening in the doors.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, if completely removing the door panel there are two screens. One behind the door handle, and as you stated one in the door cup under that little rubber mat.

I was just hoping to pop out the window switch easily without removing the whole door panel.
Hopefully someone has replaced this switch and may have some more insight.
I don't mind breaking the little retaining clips as those can be easily replaced, I just don't want to break the tabs or clips off the plastic piece that is holding the switch.
