2020 CX-5 2.5T Transmission Service and General Question

Hey Everyone,

I've got a 2020 CX-5 with the 2.5 Turbo currently at 55k miles. Looking at doing a transmission fluid service within the relatively near future. I wanted to post and clarify, are the parts the exact same for the 2.5T and the NA 2.5L? I've been researching and haven't found anything that said they were different but this will be my first service (outside of oil and spark plugs) with the CX-5 since I've got it so wanted to make sure my head is on straight.

So far the parts I've found needed are

- FZ01-21-500 Filter
- 16 Bolt Rubber Gasket (this seems like an aftermarket thing with no OEM since they used RTV from factory, this is the same between the two I hope)
- 5-liters of Mazda ATF Type FZ Fluid (any particular brands yall recommend?)
- Drain Plug Washer (Same as Engine Oil Pan, which i've got tons of)

That should cover it, I'm also gonna knock out the differential and transfer case as well which it seems like those call for Mazda OEM Long Life Hypoid Gear Oil SG1 as far as I can tell, of course, please correct me on those!

Yeah, just want to make sure there are no surprise differences between the 2.5T and NA 2.5 that bite me moving forward.

Thanks!

I doubt there is any difference in AT between NA and T models.
Please take a few photos or video to share with us.
Good luck. Have fun.

I just read somewhere on here that the AT's between turbo vs NA are NOT the same. I highly recommend you confirm that the filter is the same first. (It likely is)

I highly recommend against using those crappy rubber gaskets. go for a gasket paste instead.

NA and Turbo models are a different transmission, same family many internal differences. FZ01-21-500 is the correct filter number, I don't like using gaskets on units that originally came with RTV. There are some pan differences so the gasket you buy may be slight different shaped. The Mazda FZ fluid is high quality stuff, if you are looking for an aftermarket alternative I would only use the Aisin FZ or Ravenol FZ, they have the correct viscosity and additive package for correct static/dynamic sliding coefficient of friction. Multi use fluids can cause TCC shudder in these cars.
