Hey folks,
I bought a 2019 Signature about 6 months ago. It has been having issues with the driver's side mirror extending. I took it to the dealer to get it fixed. But apparently the 12 month bumper/bumper warranty I was told I purchased, is actually a powertrain warranty. Long story there....

Any suggestions on getting this fixed by Mazda? Maybe along the lines of this being a safety issue? (Often I have to lower the driver's side window and push that mirror to get it to open fully)

Thank you

You can turn the retract/extend function off so they stay normal all the time.
If you don't have the owners manual google it, it's a set of step to turn the function off.
I have mine OFF and manually use the button when I need to retract them.

You would have to fix on your dime unfortunately.
Or alternatively you can disable the auto folding feature as mentioned above. There is a procedure to disable it.

There is a new mazda oem mirror rebuild kit that you can purchase which includes a new motor and related parts, for about $50. It required removing the door panel to access the bolts holding the mirror to the door, tedious and delicate disassembly of the mirror and reassembly. It will take several hours to do but you can do it yourself if you have any kind of mechanical ability and take your time.

I had mine (driver's side, same deal) fixed, fortunately under factory warranty. The technician took almost 2 hours, he said it was a somewhat difficult job, as Tchman2016 noted. Turned off the feature once the warranty expired. I only close them for car washes.

Thanks. Is this a Mazda kit or aftermarket? I'd tackle this repair for $50.

Here ya go!
