2017 CX-5 Cargo Cover is Different

Current/new accessories are way more expensive than those from earlier years/generations. In trying to source a cheaper (than $200 +/-) cargo cover for my wife's CX-5 I thought of ordering an earlier year's version.

Do NOT do it.

My daughter has a 2013 CX-5 and we tried to test fit the cargo cover from hers into our 2017. It will not work.

The socket shape as well as the width prevent prior years' versions from working in a 2017.

Just wanted to pass on the word for those of you, like me, who want to get good deals on your accessory purchases. I'm looking on eBay and Amazon now, instead.

It won't work because the cargo area has changed not to mention the tailgate. They can't keep it the same.

Pretty much all accessories have changed in some way for the 2017 model.

Why wouldn't they its a new car..and don't think this hasn't crossed my mind..cover, mats- crossbars, cargo mat and net: all things I'd snatch out of my 14 in a heartbeat but only applies if I get a 16.5- not huge $ but it adds up.

I bought the aluminum pedal covers and I think the premium floor liners in the front partially cover the dead pedal. I haven't figured out if that's a decent look. The liners do look sweet thou.

No problem. I think the mechanism is very similar to gen 1 from what I've seen online.

Canadian-only Mazda OEM Premium Floor Liners should cover the whole dead pedal ⋯

I got the premium OEM liners and they fit really well (my last car I had the 3dMaxpider's).

Front Part# 000VP-CX-5FL1-0

I know that the premium liners were previously only available in Canada (not sure if that's still the case) but this site for a Toronto area based dealer does ship to US...or if you're close to the Michigan/Ontario border you could also just pop over to a local dealer.
