How do I program the interior lights? My fiance noticed that the interior lights didn't come on when he opened the door the other night.

Now I feel like an idiot. I think you're right. I'll check it when I get out of work in the morning.

Once you get them working, replace them with this set! You wont be sorry! :)

Reading the reviews of the brighter LED interior light replacements, one person had to re-install the tungsten bulbs because the LED's were too cold (blue) and gave his wife headaches. There were other complaints of them being too blue. I know I have some LED flashlights that seem plenty bright (they sure do a good job of ruining night vision for 10 minutes) but the bluish cast is goulish and makes it difficult to discern what you are looking at. The colors on maps don't "pop" anymore which makes them difficult to read. But the worst problem is how they ruin night vision for a substantial amount of time after use.

In the long winter darkness of the North, I think I would rather deal with the lower output of the warm feeling tungsten filaments (particularly when in really dark places away from city lights). But the electrical savings of LED's does appeal to me. I would switch if there was a warmer LED kit with a high CRI rating.

The replacement LED bulbs can be installed at an angle to reduce the harshness. It doesn't change the warmth or color of the light, but it does moderate the brightness that might otherwise cause issues. This technique was mentioned in the instructions that came with the bulb set.

Perhaps add some warming gel filters to them. Would cut the brightness somewhat too.

I don't believe the color rendering index can be much improved simply by adding a filter. If the spectrum output has "holes" in it, a filter won't fix that issue. There are LED's with decent CRI's but perhaps no one makes them in the right size for the interior lights of the CX-5.
