2016 CX-5 Noise when driving...Help

:
-- 2016 CX5 GS
So my wife's 2016 CX5 is having a noise when driving, at first I though it was a rock near the brakes/rotors.

Took the wheel off from the side I thought was making the noise and took a picture .. It seems the brake pad is in a crappy state, but wondering if someone can confirm.

Also why would the outside pad be ok when the inside is so worn, the rotor on the inside isn't even nice and smooth anymore haha.

Thanks in advance!

The caliper sliders are probably sticking and not allowing even pressure on both sides of the rotor. When you replace the pads, check the sliders are greased and not rusty, so they slide well.

And you should be able to easily compress them against the pads by hand and feel them glide. I made sure of this before I put my wheels back on.

I had the car serviced at a local NAPA and the guys were able to get the calipers moving, so after replacing the rotors and pads we're good to go again. I noticed the TSB and wanted to replace both calipers but I guess getting them going is worth a shot. After all there's no aftermarket calipers so the price would more than doble if I wanted to pro-actively replace them. We'll see what happens!
