2016 CX-5 GT Broken rear upper strut mount

So you bought the aluminum mounts for $13.99 each, with the steel mounts (painted black) are $58.01 each. Thanks for posting this. I live in the salt belt and plan to keep my CX-5 long term.
But these rear shock mounts are for Mazda3, they aren’t compatible with our CX-5.

The problem for CX-5 rear shock mounts is they aren’t available separately on gen-1 CX-5 from Mazda OEM. And they’re hard to find from aftermarket. They don’t come with aftermarket rear shocks either.

That specific P/N, sure.

But Dorman's website does have a variety of make/model/year, available through their search.

Here's those same parts when searching for 2014 CX-5 -- rear upper shock mount:

Plan now is to do regular inspections and a coating of rust proofing on the 2013 3 while I will probably pull apart the CX-5 in the spring for an inspection.

The website says Mazda 3 2018-14 and Mazda CX-5 2016-13 use the same rear shock mount? It even lists equivalent Mazda’s OEM part number which is impossible as Mazda doesn’t sell this part separately for gen-1 CX-5. Pull the Mazda part number KA0G28910B listed for rear shock mount at the website and you’ll get this:

Many had tried to get aftermarket rear shock mount at no avail even if there’s a part number listed. Some had tried to use OEM rear shock mount from CX-3 and the mount is very close to the one used on the gen-1 CX-5, see post #18 previously.

Came across this listing on a mount for the 2018 CX-5 and others. The brand is Top Quality sold by Transit a Canadian Outfit from Quebec. I sold their products for years and they have a very low failure rte on their products.

Wanted to offer some recent data points here.

I've got one shattered, and one cracked mount on my 2015 CX-5 w/ 117K mi on. Eleven winters of banging pot holes has caught up with me.

A local Mazda dealer quoted me $449 USD each (so $898 total) for shocks and mounts.
Given I'm planning to keep this car well past 150K mi, doing new struts, mounts, links, etc while I'm in here, but with a local shop.

I'm tempted for the cast iron aftermarket part, but I can get 2x OE struts w/ cover and mount for $200 all in, vs $100 just for the cast iron mounts. Did everyone else's mounts last around 10 years like mine? Unclear to me that it's worth the added expense.
