2016 CX-5 creaking around driver's pillar

:
-- 2016 CX5 GS
It only happens when it gets colder, so around 0'C (32'F) when driving. It's coming from the drivers' side pillar area, I believe that little plastic mesh looking insert (is that a speaker?) that meets the pillar and windshield in the bottom corner.

When I push on it, it makes the sound as well.

I don't know if that can be taken out without taking out the rest, either the pillar or dash.

Thanks!

Yeah I think it's coming from that corner speaker, but it's a rattle not something with with speaker.

I looked at how to remove that speaker panel, but it seems it's fitted pretty good in there,
and I'm afraid to stick a screwdriver in there to try and pop it, don't want to mark the trim :)

For goodness sakes, never use a screw driver! Use something like these special tools:

I was going to put tape on the tip like they indicate in the service manual :)

.. but I can’t figure out how to lift it anyways, there’s no visible edge.

I hear ya, I'm the same way haha. I've scuffed and scratched many plastic trims on my older cars trying to figure out how things are removed lol.

Those trim removal tools are a good suggestion. If its an option, I would also try stopping by a specialty automotive A/V install shop and just ask them for their opinion on how to remove it. With any luck, they may have worked on a CX-5 in the past and can give you some tips.
