2015 Mazda CX-5?

I upgraded from the 2014 touring from May 2013, to the GT in January 2014 --it is awesome! If you see one made after November 2013, it's a 2014.5. Try one, I think you will be surprised. It also has the 'straight shifter' (not gated) and includes the leather boot and leather shifter. It rides and handles differently then the touring I had before. :)
Can you quantify the differences?

Several posters have observed that the CX-5 Touring and GT a have different chassis feel due to the 17" vs 19" wheels & tires. Question is, how much difference is there between the 2014 and the 2014.5 in a given trim level, ie 2014 Touring vs 2014.5 Touring and 2014 GT vs 2014.5 GT?

I can only compare my last 2014 touring to the 2014.5 GT, the GT seems to have a better suspension and of course the GT has all leather seats with red stitching, also seems to have a updated Nav. system over the touring. I enjoy the straight shifter as opposed to the gated that was on the touring. The gt has SCB- smart city braking, where my touring did not. Also the GT has the type A dash which allows the drive to make changes to some settings not allowed on the touring. GT has a smart switch on the door --which allows the doors to lock once you walk away from the car, GT has Xenon headlights which actually do turn 15 degrees left and right --and are 'much more brighter' then the touring lights. I updated to the GT as some of the features were not available on the touring as a add on. The GT has 8 way adjustable drivers seat (nice). 2014.5 seems tighter, and has more insulation for a quieter ride, and moon-roof on the 2014.5. Those are just a few differences, hope it helps.

How do you feel that "it has a better suspension"? Are you comparing the GT to Touring now, or simply 2014.5 to a 13/14? Both? Your post is a bit vague and confusing.

Part numbers according to my dealer are still the same for suspension components (springs, dampers, sway bars). I would doubt that Mazda would change the alignment that drastically.

There was a document posted on the forum from the UK - bulletin # 2793, Product Upgrade - Attachment 1 - which mentioned some "updated tuning of dampers, bushes and stabilisers to increase ride comfort and reduce noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels", among other changes. No guarantee those changes will make it into the N. American production but one can only hope.

The differences I stated are based on the 2014 touring I bought in May 2013, (that was made in 2012). I traded the touring in, for the GT and there is a noticeable difference in ride and handling. My current GT was made December 2013, I bought it in January 2014. I've been driving cars since the 60's, so the changes were quickly apparent. Any CX-5 made after November 2013 are actually designated as 2014.5.

Might be the subtle difference due to:

old 2013 Touring on 17's - some have reported original tires are deteriorating with mileage accumulation, noise increase especially

versus

new 2014.5 GT on brand new 19" Toyos (quieter, firmer handling, better tire overall).

I too have been driving since the good old days, but I don't think that's important here.

I mentioned the 'good old days' just to let everyone know I'm not a kid just buying his first cars, and not really know what the heck he was talking about. :)

Yes, my avatar is a picture of me, and my first car. haha!

Has anyone else seen brochures for the 2015 CX5? Since it's now March, I would have thought a little more information would have slipped out by now about the 2015. I'm currently on fence, waiting for 2015 vehicles to show up. I have certain requirements on my list that are rumored to be available on the 2015 Touring, so my reason for waiting.

Just surprised by the silence.

My dealer in Riverside California had 2015 CX-5 brochures.

2015's must be on water for arrival soon. Local dealerships here have 2015's listed on website without pictures, but they have vin #'s, etc. Looks like MSRP pricing hasn't changed, at least for top of line GT's AWD w/Tech Pkg.

The differences that I'm aware of between the 2014 and the 2014.5 is the shifter and there is a structural change in the cage that improves the crash test ratings (iihs)...

Can you quantify the differences?

For what it's worth I can tell you that a 2013 Sport has a lighter on its feet feeling than a 2014 Touring because I've owned both.

The 2015 brochures were at the dealership last night. No changes to the GT, but touring and sport get the advanced keyless entry.

I would have thought Touring and GT get Advance Keyless Entry (standard) and not the Sport model...

This is on the KBB website;

What's New for 2015

The 2015 Mazda CX-5 is mostly carryover from last year. The only notable change is the addition of Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry as standard equipment on Touring and Grand Touring trims.

Prices for the 2015 Mazda CX-5 rose a modest amount compared to last year, increasing $150 across the board, regardless of trim or drive configuration. The base CX-5 Sport with its manual transmission costs $21,545. Add the automatic, and that goes up to $22,945. The mid-level Touring models start at $24,965, while the top-line Grand Touring costs $27,970. All-wheel drive adds $1,250.

We ordered a 2015 FWD GT w/ Tech on Presidents Day when it was 4 days on the water from Japan. Arrived in port about a week ago, should be at Tuttle-Click Mazda in Irvine in a few days. If more info doesn't surface sooner, I'll let you guys know any details when I drive it home! :)

Nice, can't wait to see the pictures.

How much did you get it for?
