2014 B-Spec Racing

Did Mazda ever come up with a reflash or replacement ABS module similiar to the Fiesta?

Do you have serious wheelspin issues coming off slower corners (40-50mph)?

Nope on the ABS module. I honestly never have a problem with it. No problems on the wheel spin either, DOT slicks do wonders for grip when they are warm.

Yippie! A 4th B-Spec car signed up for this weekends Majors at Thunder Hill, a mini cooper!

I came away from last weekend with a 2nd place on Saturday (super close finished, I missed first by about 3 feet) and a 1st place on Sunday at the SCCA Majors at Thunderhill. It was a blast racing against a Kia Rio. They have some strengths which the 2 does not but the whole car is much larger. We had some decent winds on Sunday which probably hurt the other driver.

Great results! I was wondering about that Rio for autocross also. Figured lighter weight would prevail over a "big block".. Sucks bout the 3 feet, how many times did you play that final lap in your mind? Shoulda woulda coulda?

Awesome job at Thunderhill!

I had quite a few thoughts on what I could have done better to win. Even drafting for another 10-15 feet could of gotten me there.

I have some crazy friends.

Yeah it does. I am not much lower, pretty close to the max you can get with the shocks/adjusters

Who is the 85 Mazda 2 Derek?

Next weekend is a Divisional at MSRH in TX...I'm probably going with a tired motor (down on hp) but James needs an intake manifold. We should have our first Yaris sighting. I'll probably go to give him someone to play with.

Heinz is a nice guy from Canada renting the SBOX engineer car. He could be faster in the car, we just left him at the start of both of the races :(

There is a Yaris signed up for the event this weekend, the driver has posted up on here before. It should be fun with the Fits out there too.

Congrats on setting the lap record on Sunday, it was nice to meet you and see the car in action.

It was great to see you out there as well. I would ask Joe here on the forum if you cannot get him on the phone about the ECU.

I forgot to ask how the battle with Thomas went in the black fit, someone mentioned you guys had contact in the race too.

Yeah there was contact on Sat, I attempted to call his bluff and ended up with contact to his door, damage was minor on both sides luckily. In the end it didn't matter as I had an off track incident a few laps later and he got the position back. On Sunday I took him pretty easily in lap 2 or 3 but blew my motor up a few laps later.

I'll try to get ahold of Joe again, but from my last conversation he wasn't sure he'd be able to do the ECU.
