okay so im new to this forum obv and i'm one of those honda cult guys. current car is a 03 em2 k swap. on the absolute fly my parents pushed me into buying a car so i went to mazda with my brother and tried to track down a black speed, and the only speed in canada was a 2013 black speed so i bought it, however it has to be sent down to nfld from toronto and i wont get it for approx 2 weeks. i thought the 12/13 were the same so i didnt really think twice about it but im just finding out about the gunmetal rims on the 2013's and i'm in love because i was going to buy a set of 17's black rims for her <3 anyways haha just wondering what else was different in the 12/13 ms3's because i guess now whether i like it or not i'm a mazda guy! btw im 19 and live in canada. thanks guysssssssssssssssssss.(cabpatch) also what can i buy for winter tires? i only need them for one winter while i rebuild my honda for next year, then my ms will be stored. what's the break in period on these puppies? any information possible would be great! also i am looking for aftermarket bi-xenon hid's. also what's available in engine management. aem series 2? thanks

I think th only difference is the 18 inch gunmetal rims. Not sure off hand though. Mine is the 2011 with tech package, all that I have done so far is the cobb tuner, cork sport cold air intake, turbosmart dual port bov, cork sport cat-back exhaust and corksport TIP. On order is my rear motor mount and top mount intercooler.

you will hear mixed things about break-in period. The manual says 600 miles i think. Just no hard launching, no long driving at a constant speed. As far as winter tires, i would recommend getting General Altimax Arctics. I used them for 6K miles and they still have 10/32nds on them. I would also recommend putting the winter tires on the 17s. The tires will be cheaper and for winter, you don't want a wide tire. I run 18x8 during the summer and 17x6.5 during the winter. Tirerack is where i got mine but discounttiredirect is also pretty good. There is no real difference between the 12 and 13 unless you got the tech package. If you got the tech then you get a nice big display screen and GPS/HD Radio/Pandora/Text-to-speech when phone is linked to in-car bluetooth. As far as bi-xenon hids, i just got a set from ddm tuning. They are not bi-xenon but they work well. Cobb AccessPort is the only engine management you will want to use. These cars are very picky about mods and fuel pressure so be sure to read up on that before you start ripping cats out of the exhaust. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions

awesome dude thanks a bunch. like i said i've been strictly a honda guy but i impulsed bought a new speed 3 so i'm not too sure much about mazda's. no to the nav package.. more weight hahaha. i'll probably go with a set if 16'' steelies for winter tires? whats the correct bolt pattern? i leaveing to go back to work (i work on ships.) on the 10th or so and im praying it will be here before then, if not then i will have her waiting for me until december 27th :(
