2012+ Mazda5 Sport Front Splash Guards Installation

Installed front splash guards the other day. Part number purchased: CC29-V3-450H. The instructions that came with it were for part CC29-V3-450F. Possibly part number for the previous gen? Anyway, there was mention of removal and trimming of a stone guard. I don't have one on my '14 Sport. So as far as I understand there is nowhere to attach the bottom white clip of the splash guard to. Not sure how helpful/secure guards are if they are not attached to the bottom of the front fender. Any advice for those that installed these on their 5's?

EDIT: Had to pop off a cap that plugged a round hole in the fender. The stone guard would have been attached to the fender with a plastic clip inserted in that hole. Kind of a duh moment - at first I didn't think those caps were to be removed. This should improve sturdiness of the part quite a bit. We'll see how they do with some weight on them though (snow, ice, etc).

I had installed these on the front of our 2008 Mz5. After a couple years of winter abuse the white clip that fits into that plugged hole you mentioned became loose and kept popping out. I eventually removed them both before the jiggly splash guards wore down the paint along the front wheel well. I later installed a set of universal fit hard rubber front and rear splash guards using stainless hrdware. They work better and they're not going anywhere.

Thanks for the post. Yes, I'm still a bit concerned about durability of this OEM set. But will need to see how it works out in harsh weather which won't be until this if not next winter.
