2012 Mazda 5 Sport Brilliant Black
Has anyone done this yet? Just bought my Mazada 5 and I am seriously considering doing it very soon either by myself or by professional installers with a Pioneer AVH-P6300BT. Not sure how it's going to look since the 2012 dash with the stock radio is not completely symmetrical, the radio isn't just going to pop out and leave a perfect square for a standard double size mounting kit. Any thoughts or pics of someone who has done it. Thanks!

I'm not sure if anyone makes a bezel for it yet. I checked with Crutchfield and they currently carry the previous gen bezel but not for the current model. Also, rest of the world gets the factory Navigation option and we don't. If they offered the factory navigation with reverse camera, I'm sure quite a few people would jump on it for sure.

I just bought the Scosche MA1548B dash kit from Sonic Electronix for 2012 Mazda 5s. I am buying the Pioneer AVH-P3300BT instead of the Pioneer AVH-P6300BT tomorrow at Best Buy. Hopefully I will receive the dash kit by the end of the week so I can install it over the weekend. I'm toying with installing the MicroBypass so I can have Navigation on the head unit by connecting my iPhone 4 via the Pioneer proprietary cable. I've seen videos on YouTube that you show that you can stream Netflix and do a few other things with this head unit too. I will post pictures once I complete the install.

I received the Scosche MA1548B dash kit today from Sonic Electronix. I was very surprised I received it so quickly, from order to deliver it was two days. I decided to buy the Pioneer AVH-P3300BT online instead from Best Buy to save some money. I should receive it next week, bummer because I really wanted to install this weekend. I have to wait for the MicroBypass anyway which was shipped out today. I also bought the Pioneer CD-IU51V cable today so I can use my apps with the head unit.

The Scosche dash kit is very sturdy plastic, almost identical to the factory trim as far as that goes. Color wise my interior is black so I'm sure it will match up nicely. I am attaching a pic of the kit. I'm leaving it in the plastic until I install.

Definitely look into the adapter to keep the steering wheel controls... well worth the $30.

Which one is only $30? The one I saw was like $60 or something, I really didn't look hard though. Have you done a factory stereo replacement?

Install done! I spent my MLK holiday installing the Pioneer DVD Receiver and everything installed with no problems! The Scosche dash kit was almost a perfect fit, there is a tiny bit of space between the head unit and trim. I could have centered it a little better but you really can't tell. I installed the Micro Bypass and it works like a charm. I was really dreading pulling off the dash because basically the whole center console and part of the dash needed to be removed or loosened and I was worried about busting off the clips. I broke of two but fortunately for me they don't make a difference at all, doesn't mean I'm not annoyed about it though.

I can't believe how much of a difference the head unit makes as far as making the stock speakers sound really good. I was almost going to buy new ones but I can live with them right now for a while. Pics attached. The one thing I wish I did buy was the adapter to control the head unit with my steering wheel controls but I was already spending more than I wanted to begin with. I'll probably do it in the near future.
