Holy frig, thank you for saying something H&A. my3needsaname's complaining is so annoying I want to scream.

I would hold back from saying something because I didn't want to wreck a thread. Mostly your complaints are just getting ignored now because looking your ridiculous valve ticking thread, all your issues sound made up or over exaggerated except for maybe a couple legit ones.

You complain about auto tranny yet you don't know how to drive standard. How ridiculous is that?

I hope the district manager comes on here and reads your how to launch with an automatic tranny thread, prints it off and goes "I found out why your transmission slips and its not covered".

pretty much. Couldn't find the thread, probably deleted for street racing.
I think it involves bashing through gears in manumatic mode too.

Man, I've done that in rentals, but never in something I dropped $20k on.

My guess is he's a troll, or very young, or just sort of blandly stupid (or all three!).

Anyways, back on topic. My next car is heavily biased towards being another Mazda and I like what I've seen of the 2010 Speed3. Looks aggressive and it's going to be a love/hate relationship.

I imagine its going to stir up all kinds of controversy. =)

I couldn't say why you get 16 mpg, I don't know how you load your vehicle regularly, how you drive it, what sort of conditions you generally drive it in, or any mechanical problems it may have, etc.

If you have legitimate problems with your transmission, or something else, I hope they get fixed. I hope the Mazda rep takes you seriously and looks into your problems enough to get them fixed so your car can go back to being the fairly affordable, fairly refined, good on fuel, peppy for its class car that it is.
3-3.5K from a stop to get it going, barely red line, usually just me 5 days a week, I'm in CA...what do you think?, transmission is a pos and my header leaks...that's about it.

I would never do a neutral to drive dump while on the gas, that's so stupid it's amazing someone mentioned it.
I was never raised on a manual. How hard is that to believe? My grandparents and parents have driven autos as long as they've been alive and I've never rolled with a stick.
Olestra, I hope you die in a fiery inferno in your Mazda because that was an asshole thing to say about the District Manager heading up.
It was actually a rev up in gear and lay down on the throttle which the car should have been R&D'd for by Mazda and if it wasn't then I can't believe I dumped money on something that wasn't considered for that.
I'm not very young, I never planned on being labeled as a troll, and I'm not stupid. When everyone on here becomes a s*** (with a few exceptions) then it just seems like I'm a troll.

Answer your questions well enough?

This isn't a GTI with launch control and DSG. Don't rev it up and expect it to switch gears properly. It's a basic auto tranny.
I never said not knowing manual is ridiculous, I said complaining about driving an auto yet not know how to drive anything else is.
How do you even know your header leaks. You guessed that issue out.
This is tiresome, so... back on topic.

It's not a manual. Why are you doing this? Put it in drive, stand on the brake, when it's time to move forward, step off the brake and press on the gas.

70 year old ladies manage to get this right, and you seemingly do not. Why is this?
I said 3-3.5K on the tach to get it going I never said anything about driving it like a stick. I press the gas and that's where the ECM thinks it should shift out of first, so it does.

That's not revving up to me. As I said before, that's where the ECM thinks it should shift with how hard my foot is pressed on the gas.
It goes 3-3.5K 1st, down to 2,750ish 2nd, down to 2,250ish 3rd, and then sits at 2K in 5th going 45.
Where are you guys making this assumption that I'm driving it like a b****?
