Hey all,

I was just wondering those of you running stock rims and tires on 2010 MS3 what are you thoughts and feelings about the Dunlop SP2050 tires? I've heard that they have steel belt blow outs? also the ranking on them are pretty bad so just want to hear from first hand users.

Wet/dry performance
Noise
Ride
etc.

Thanks.

wet-6/10
dry-8/10
noise-8/10
ride-8/10

i havent had these tires for long so this is just what i think about them so far if its raining you have to take it pretty easy or the tires slip but other than that i dont have any real complaints as of now but they are what i would expect for stock tires

Not really my favorites...

Dry handling is pretty decent although not the best ones out there. In the wet, as Conk said, they really do slip, mostly under acceleration (given the weight balance, power and FWD), not so much in turns.

Ride comfort, I can’t really elaborate as I used to have a Mini S and the ride was rock hard thanks to the runflats and sport suspension, so in all honesty, I can’t tell if it’s the tires or the suspension setup on the MS3, but it gets quite bumpy on less than good rod conditions.

Noise is pretty bad though, lots of it in fact...

I’ve done 9,000 kms on them, fronts are looking a bit used already (a bit more than normal IMO, but nothing out of the ordinary).

I like the performance overall but given their price, I won’t be buying them again... Too pricey for a so-so tire... Quoting Conk again, they’re what you would expect of a stock tire: decent to good performance, over-priced and I’m starting to think that not-very-long-lasting...

Hope this helps...

ThAnks for the feedback fella's. So far I've only run them in the dry so haven't experience d the wet so guess I'll find out next week when we get part of that hurricane coming up the coast.
