2009 Mazda5 on 18x8 and 18x9... Daily

i just test fitted my wheels ive been rolling as daily's for the camry and love em on it.. gon keep it that way pretty mcuh.. the offsets are not perfect hence the "poke" ill solve that when i lower the car with more negative camber in the front/rear , a 215 width in the front and mazdaspeed springs..

here it goes.. critisizm is always welcome but please be nice with the comments. i <3 my mini-minivan.... lol

Yes the car does have factory negative camber...

wheel specs are 18x8 and 18x9 and yes u can run a 9.5 with the correct offset.. ill give u guys a hint, im running 38+ ALL AROUND there.. u can figure it out... i know u guys can =]

OK... Rear stance is murdersquad perfect! Dumped and cambered a bit more with the rear and its flawless victory. The 38et on the front could be a bit more of a challenge. Hard to tell cause you got the wheels turned a little but the poke looks a little more out there. You think you can make that work?

OT: What window visors are you running? And you have the exact 5 i wanted but I wasnt willing to sacrifice the 5speed option. Gotta be able to shift my cars... illest

SICK Needz moar low low... lol

It looks decent. I think itll look much better when its lowered. But i think you need to go with airbags and a VIP theme to achieve greatness :D . Then it would all come together IMO.

WOW...that looks bad...please take off the stickers and rims...

refuse to take off stickers.. they add 15hp to my motor.. thats what they illest guys told me at least lol

ill call em up and see if we have time monday... hes not in till then and i need to order wheels for my Z either way...

I just don't understand why everyone wants to put those stickers on their cars and why all these people keep putting really ugly (IMO) rims on their cars lately...

Alright! Another 5/Z owner!

Im not feeling the wheels or the look of your 5 ATM, BUT, MOAR LOW will change that entire perception pretty damn fast for me!

So..............Drop that SOB already!

PS: where in cali? Im in Ventura co.

subbin'- because i want to see a loooow 5 with big wheels.

i have to agree, those wheels are horrible. they look like they should be on a benz s-class.

wheels are linea sports (linea corsa) 3.5" lip front 4.5 rear hence the reason i bought them.. i <3 Angelina jolie therefore i <3 big lips lol....

these wont be the final wheels i get on the car im still pushing for those fabulous profounds but im blah on chrome finishes...

wheels will always and forever be a conception of like it or love it.. i know a lot of owners here run rota or other knockoff brands (linea is not much better cough knockoff LM's) most of which i dislike heavily.... i play a lil hard.. i just hate going with the typical look of every car with RX-8 wheels or some other..... i just needed to show you CAN run daily 9" or wider if you do some research and testing... im sure an agressive showcar can absolutely run a 10" in the rear and only 5mm of poke with a -6 degree negative camber rolled fenders and a very slight pull.. all this on a 30+ et...

im 110% sure the best offset for the rear on a 9 is 42 for a perfect flush fit stock... add half and inch and subtract half that from your offset again, and you get a 9.5 running on a 35-38et... its all simple math.. the only thingn stopping you is a plastic boot over your rear shock.. and that can be solved with a set of yard shears!!!!

the car wont ever be low low low.. my camry has its sub sittin a keyfob off the ground... and my truck is lifted.. the Z is the weekend enjoyment car.. the mazda was bought purely for daily use with the ability to carry a few heads... it was never ment to go all out.. hence only mazdaspeed goodies to keep it close to stock without too much comprimise..

happy modding guys..

I personally would not buy wheels like that for my 5, if I was buying wheels, but they are certainly different and do look pretty good. Interesting choice.

Lookin good, but for sure...... it'll look way better as soon as you drop it. As for me, I settled for 19 X 8.5 MRR wheels, with 215/35/19 tires (rubber bands on wheels...really stiff but looks different...especially in Maui Hawaii. Oh yeah, I used HR Springs for taking away the wheel well space...

id like to reiterate that these wont be on for more than a year.. it was a proof of concept to PROVE you can run wider than everyone says...

i was going to put on HR3's however i just found a post with someone having them already sigh... maybe some zero offset wheels with 4" of lip hahhaa...

drop will come when i find some springs since i dont want coilovers due to the crappy ride (i still take this car on the 500+ mile trips)

key thing here is pushing limits on a DAILY DRIVER

thanks for all the comments negative or positive... everyone is entitled to their opinions...

randrew -

I love it!!! I cannot run 19" as the ride quality would just be too much - but I love the drop.

Which H&R springs? PM me a product number or some specs. Mazda 3 H&R sports? Mazda5 H&R sports... springlines?

TRD, what part of Cali are u in?

Randrew- how's the ride quality on the H&Rs? Any issue with rubbing? Bottoming out and steep inclines?

REDHeAdz-long time no see! How u been? I just got back from Japan, so gettin back into the forum...you're the only familiar name I see!(rei)
