Hello everyone,

Im new to the forums both in registration and visits as I recently bought a 2009 Mazda3 i Touring and it made me check out these forums. I must say that although I liked Mazda's before, after test driving this one (the only Mazda I test drove) I immediately fell in love and had to have it. Especially since the previous owner had taken such good care of the car.

Now I have a question in regards to the 09 version's brakes and since i have nothing else to compare it to, I thought the next best thing is to ask you guys as Mazda owners. When I drive the car, even at low-moderate ~40mph speeds I feel like I have to bury my foot pretty deep for the car to start losing momentum...in other words much longer pedal travel. This cant be normal for a Mazda known for pretty great braking. Now dont get me wrong, I dont want my car sensitive enough so that it starts stopping the second I place my foot on the pedal but this feels like I have dig in.

Please let me know of your experience, something wrong with my brakes? something I should be worried about and bring in? The car is at 31k miles which is about the same when I bought it (only had it for couple of days) so seems about the right time to change the brakes maybe?

Thank you in advance

I have a 2009 3 and it has very good brakes. I suspect you have a problem with yours.
Check the obvious, brake fluid level, parking brake adjustment, condition of the brake
pads and rotors.
