2008 Turbo lag?

Yeah, that one is the older one, there should be a newer reflash, but no TSB for it. I'm checking to see if my dealer has it, and I want to see what It can do for the really, almost non existant lag.

I had the hesitation TSB done, and the tranny tsb, those have been around for a while.

They certainly helped...but def did not cure but nonetheless, it was a big time improvement.

The Mazda certainly has turbo lag...my only comparison to the Mazda is now my Acura (which i consider the CX-7's counterpart), which feels like a normal engine in respect to the Mazda's Turbo. The RDX has lag, dont get me wrong, but it only sneeeks out in very very rare occasions if you catch the engine off guard. i think the vari-flow turbo in the acura certainly helps

this issue is really a dead dog for the Mazda, im just interested in terms of what they may have done on top of the Hesitation TSB. (idhitit)

Compared to the RDX the CX-7 suffers from no turbo lag, even looking at videos of the RDX off the line it looks laggy, and the CX-7 does not.

....if you want to believe the 7 has less lag than the RDX, go ahead. the rdx posts times of 0-60 in the mid 6 second area, the 7 doesnt touch that. In all honesty, (im not being a dick here) bring ur 7 to an acura dealer and drive an rdx. the 7 is powerful, but not as quick. Also, on dyno's, the acura seems to be pushing around 215HP at the wheels, which is more like 260/270 hp stock, could be why its faster (temple of vtech tests)

CX-7's with little mods like mine are pulling 6.8 times with TCS off, and NO torque braking, the RDX has to use TB to get under seven seconds, I think it was TOV that posted like 7.8 times with no TB. I have driven the RDX, it has noticeable lag, in the review videos like the ones from that show on PBS, you can see it has trouble off the line due to lag.

So you just compared a "moded" cx-7 (the majority of people wont be modding this car) to a stock acura. My car stock, will still beat your modded 7

it was motor trend who got 6.5 in their log books w/o TB. im sure you can view that article online. The log book shows consistent runs under 7.

LOL what are you on? Car and Driver ALWAYS uses BT to get the best numbers out of their tests. I would like to put my CX-7 against your RDX, or any, a majority of the tests don't know when to shift the CX-7, and the three hundred I spent on one mod and a Stock BPV upgrade still makes it cheaper than the RDX.

Motor Trend:
On paper, the Acura doesn't appear that imposing. Under its hood resides the only four-cylinder in this group, mated to the test's sole five-speed automatic. And horsepower is rated at just 240, bettering only that of the LR2. But stomp on the drive-by-wire throttle and that paper flies right out the window-0-to-60 takes a mere 6.5 seconds and the quarter mile just 15.1 at 90.7 mph, handily smoking the other three.

and thatll be my last response to the thread

I read what you said, it does not matter, the only reason why I posted a video of the RDX was for the lag that is clearly visible in the video, nothing else.
