2008 Mazda PRHT Automatic Car Wash Ok?

I read on Mazda's MX-5 2016 Manual that you should that you should not go through an Automatic Car Wash if you have a power retractable hard top. Is this true? Do you guys and girls only wash yours by hand? I need a wash and don't really want to wash and wax by hand.

Many people, me included, feel that any car wash that touches your car with anything other than water is to be avoided. Those spinning brushes are very good at scratching up your paint.

Ok. Thanks for your response. So I guess a Ronnie's Car Wash should be avoided. I was more concerned about the pressure on it's retractable top.

I've been using a touch free car wash with no issues. But mostly wash by hand.

Totally agree, Mazda paint really is soft I'm wary too, and that's why I hand wash

Thanks Buzzman. Yea both Mazdas I’ve owned had paint and clear coat issues, regardless of the obvious which is living in Florida. I had a 1990 Cadillac Seville that the paint was always perfect even in Florida
