Don't get me wrong, it's not the best spray job. But for a metallic paint, it did quite well what with a compressor that started acting up halfway through the process (charging only to a static 75 PSI). Keep the gun clean and it should work just fine.

This is just a badass project. Hopefully the next couple of days go as planned for you.

Off to the Challenge! I'll post pics when I return.

The alignment is dialed in, the car is clean, and I'll be tuning it in about, oh, 6 hours (after 3 hours of sleep). Great. She's looking pretty good and I'm quite excited. In all, I'm just about $20 shy of the budget. Whew!

All in all, the car is DONE!!!!

Furthermore, I'd like to send a HUGE thanks to those who helped along the way. Muff, Todd, Wayne, Wil, Shuman, Mikey, Luke, and anyone else I may have forgotten at this late hour.

Challenge Update

Just a quick update from the challenge.

So far, I've completed the auto-x and concourse segments. I don't yet where I stand in the concourse, but the car was received very well. The best part is that the car placed 9th out of 54-ish!!!!! Top 10! I couldn't be happier. The hard part is over and knowing that I'll get killed at the strip, the drags will be just for run.

There happens to be another AWD convert, to my surprise, present. A Mitsubishi Mirage. The two cars were asked to pose together for a photo shoot today, so hopefully there will be some magazine exposure.

Anyway, back to the beer and Honging!!
