So my 2007 MS3 GT non nav has developed a rather funky issue with the CD changer. Well, actually the playing of CDs and not the changer itself.

It started a couple months ago with the player taking a while (5-20 seconds) to switch then I tried to change songs. This would happen with regular CDs and ones I made. It was fairly intermittent, just enough to border on annoying.

Then it started to take 10 or so seconds to switch over to the next song when on ended. Both regular and burned CDs. Still intermittent, but frequent enough to bother me.

Now I am getting what I can best call as a CD player freeze. It will just freeze and I can go to radio, aux or whatever just fine. The CD player will not respond to any commands and turning the car off doesn't help most of the time. It will just start again on its own within a minute or an hour+ later. Both regular and burned CDs.

I did a search and didn't turn up anything similar. So my question is am I destined for my CD player to take a s*** and if so what's a good resource for checking out new units and trying to find on that will let me keep steering wheel controls and trip computer?

Maybe if it's going to die and can get lucky and find a junked car with the same unit.
