2007 Honda Civic Si Sedan

MS3 gets you more of everything for less money. Plus how does the Civic have more room than the MSP?

While I agree with more of everything, I seriously doubt you get an MS3 for less money.

Although IMHO the MSP makes the Civic SI sedan look ugly.

Man you know I envy your speaking skills but I have to say your eyes are bad. LOL I like the MSP but this SI sedan wins IMO.

HA! Thats where you're wrong, I'm the only member of my family that doesn't wear glasses. I guess you and I just differ in opinions on this one.

I can sorta dig the Civic Si Coupe but the sedan does nothing for me.

LOL you know I was messin w/ya.

I like the SI sedan. I guess it's the fact that I'm an old school kind of guy and while FI is a good way to get a lot of power, there is just nothing like having a fast powerful car that is all motor!

Test drove one a few weeks ago. Dash was hideous. It had no, and I mean no power below 6000 rpms. Couldn't even think of one.

Well it has to have some power. Hell the P5 and the sedan pros only have 100 hp/torq so anything is better then our cars. And if you look at the 0-60 the Cobalt hits it in 7.1
GTI 7.2
MINI 7.4
WRX 5.9
SPD3 6.1
These are all FI cars.
The SI hits it in7.5 N/A, to me that's not bad. They'll have a nice aftermarket with heads cams engine managment and so on. All with out worrying about to rich to lean or over reving, well for the most part. Plus with the low compresion you could alway NOS it. Oh and with the FIs they were just a few 10ths faster then an N/A car.

But only 139 ft/lbs. of torque!!
That's still more torque than the protege/p5 puts out. (ugh)
Torque isn't everything. Even with only 139 lb/ft of torque, the motor has enough muscle to pull off mid to high 14 second passes in the 1/4 mile.

With you being an owner of a mazdaspeed 6, I can understand why you would think the SI has no power below 6k. Honda's are renowned for their top end performance, not for low end power. I personally think the power below 6k is adequate.

Actually, some sites/magazines list the 0-60 times as low as 6.7.

Si Sedan looks much better than the coupe imo. Good job honda! Just give us a supercharged/turbocharged version and then i'd consider one.

oops. Yeah, K20 engine.

As for the Mazdaspeed brand, there is something to be said for reliablity. With all mud slinging set aside, I drove a Civic Si for 10 years before the MSP and never had a problem with it. In one year, I had more problems with this MSP than in the entire 10 year span I owned my civic. I just don't trust the Mazdaspeed brand anymore.

I am sure those numbers are at the crank which still puts it higher than the stock P5 but I'll stick with my P5 at 12psi and 260+/- ft/lbs. of torque.

My point was 197hp doesn't look so good when you see that the torque is that low and you have to drive around cruising in the upper rpm's to feel any power.

100% in agreement. I don't want to rev the blue blazes out of my car to get going.

I need torque to merge onto the highway, pass an 18 wheeler, quickly get past slow moving traffic and merge into a single lane. 139 Ib. Feet is just not gunna get it done. If Nissan could just refine the 2.5 liter 4 Cyl. in the Sentra SER and put it in a good looking car and get it to about 220 HP and 220 Ib Ft or torque naturally aspirated, I'd be happy. I like turbo power but I want the reliability and simplicity if NA.

That just means you have to plan your passing. Lord knows I have to do it all the time with this damn car. I just build up a space cushion between me and the vehicle I want to pass on a two lane road, for example. Then use that space as an acceleration zone so that when I have the chance to pass I am able to build up a good bit of speed to carry me around the vehicle I'm passing, its sad that I have to do that but I don't have much choice with my car :)

Yeah we have to do that in our P5's but if you spring the cash for a Civic Si, I sure as heck don't want to have to plan my passing. I want to pass and I want to pass NOW! Imagine if you've got 4 people in your civic Si sedan and you need to pass an 18 wheeler.............YEAH! TORQUE PLEASE!!!!

what's up with the DOHC sticker on the sides? who gives a s***? that's like bragging a car has brakes. definitely needs to go...

I looked at an 06 coupe (no nav) with 13k miles on it.... seems to be in great shape. Dude said he wanted $21k for it and I was like...uhh... isn't' that how much they're selling for new? So then he's like... ok, how about $19,9k? lol some negotiator he is) I told him I need to think about it....

what do you guys think? is that a solid deal?
