2007 Buick Grand National GNX

if its not a dream....About dam time!!!!

Even if it's not a hoax...We can still dream that the GNX badge would re-emerge sooner or later...after a few great let downs from GM of muscle car name sakes ( Impala SS, Nova, Malibu, etc) we deserved to see an actual car bare a name with fond actual horsepower pride. You can imagine our (musclecar buffs) fear when the MOPAR camp announced they were bringing back the Cuda! And a lil' background on Buick, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac...(BOP) we had always been sort of the ba$tard children of GM and had often had to share body platforms and design shapes of each other for years (kinda like ford with mercury), look at the Anniversary edition Turbo Trans Am...in 89 after GM/Buick stopped the production of their G-body RWD cars...Pontiac needed a quick powerplant fix for their cars...so what did they use? a BUICK turbo 3.8 SFI turbo!! So yes it looks like they will share the GTO platform (a RESPECTABLE production car!), hell, theyre using the same place (Australia) they made the GTOs...GM psyche...go fig. But AWD T-W-I-N turbo...My God...we old school Turbo Buick owners tend to not even consider a Twin turbo set up til we either blow up our Stock 109 blocks past 700HP with a Single turbo or we get bored and want to safely go to a stage II block THEN we TWIN turbo them for 1000-2000+HP monsters!!(dark) 450HP outta a lil 3.6 V6 will be a LOT safer to go cruising with of course (cabpatch) not to mention better body Stability at higher speeds. Jeez I hope my credit gets fixed by 2007!!!! (bling)

I'm not sure where the copy (text) for this came from, but it looks like a 4th grader wrote it.

I vote hoax (for now)...clue in that Buick badge on the front; it's totally bitmapped on and doesn't even have the correct foreshortening ("ovaling" if you will) of the circle on the grill as the car is at a 30-45 degree angle in that shot....

Hey who knows, maybe one day it will happen. Damm crap got me happy all for nothing :(

I guess somebody didn't get the memo

And I just heard a GM exec talking on NPR this morning about how they're going to stop having the same car spread around all the lines, because they're getting watered down and customers lose interest. They want a Pontiac to be like a Pontiac, a Caddy to be like a Caddy, etc. ........so now the GTO has become a Buick. Decent spec's and horsepower, but $38K?

I heard the same report this morning as well.

But again, this particular news "release" sucks. Just read the copy again; it reads so poorly - that alone should condone this as a hoax.

it is a hoax and this thread should be closed so no other idiot will get on here and spread around to other forums that there is a new Grand National coming out.

Apparently it is a hoax, I realized it was a photoshop, but I didn't realize the whole thing was bogus.

I found this on another forum and I wanted to know if it was a real concept or not.I guess I found my answer...:(

My brother saw this yesterday and he's got an 86' Buick Regal t-type with more hp than this thing's got. But the minute he saw the pic on my computer, he said "hey.. thats a GTO." lol

GM is trying too damn hard to bring back the younger crowd...and there failing...they cant keep bring back cars that have been long dead and say they are "new and improved."

they also need to slow down there roll outs. there have been so many new GM launches/murders in the last year, that I cant even keep track of whats what anymore...

I'm going to post as if this were real, which I believed when I saw it...

You guys are being too harsh. It's not an ugly car and it's not a grand prix lookalike. If anything, the Grand Prix is a Holden Manaro (sp?) lookalike. This is an auzzie car and I like it. I wish that GM had never gotten their filthy little hands on it to build that joke of a car they shortsightedly dubbed a follow up to the goat, but it's a nice car sans GM intervention

Knew it was a chop, but I thought it was a concept or soemthing.

Damn, I got excited there for a second. I DO mean excited...
