What's the difference between the 2006 model and the 2007 model? I ask because 2006 has a 3750 rebate while 2007 has a 1000 currently. If there's no big change might as well go get a 2006.

There really is almost nothing from what I understand. Just get an 06 and save yourself a few bucks.

I know they dropped white water pearl in 2007 and maybe one other color. Other than that they're the same. 2007 is the last year for the current Mazda6 body style.

there are two things i dont understand...why take the most popular color? im pretty sure the white ones are the ones that sell the most...or even if its not, im dead sure it aint the least. Why take ponies off?

trying to turn it into the MPS?

heres my thoughs:

the white was extra, so they probably didnt sell as many

the reflash is probably what caused the change in HP. so, in other words the 06 probably has the same HP as the 07

Not exactly sure when it happened, but I believe they changed how they rate hp on cars. Like 06 Sti's were rated at 300hp, 07 they are rated at 293hp with no engine changes. So they are probably exactly the same amount of hp, just rated differently.

07 dropped two colors, Whitewater pearl (white), and black cherry mica. I thought I also heard somewhere that they added tire pressure monitoring on the 07's?

Yea I think the hp ratings now reflect the hp after it looses some from the transmission. Its the same thing (300=293, 293=293)

my car doesnt have a reflash though...

any 06 that you buy at a dealer will have it done. it was a recall. they can't knowingly sell a car that has been part of a recall and the work not performed.

my 06 has a tire pressure monitoring system.

reflash was also done before i bought it as well. the put a sticker in the front area of the drivers door jamb that verifies this.

the tire pressure system is through the Nav correct? so any year with the Nav will have that system.

Not true (according to my dealership), it was a voluntary recall. My MS6 was built in January '06 and I bought it in November and there was no sticker on the drivers side door jam saying it was done. I called the dealership I bought it from and he did a little research and called me back saying it was NOT done to my particular car. I said that it was a recall and why wasn't it done and that's when he told me it was voluntary.
Just thougt I would share my take on this...

i agree with you, it wasnt a recall at all, a technical service bulletin is what service said to me.

They probably did the same thing they did with the MSPs reflash, ever car on the lot was suppose to have it done when it came out, but the cars that were already out could request not to get it. I remember because I didn't have the flash on my MSP (it was a Mazda reps car) and I told them NOT to do it.

no. it WAS a recall. not a safety recall or anything like that, but it WAS. the main difference being that someone out of warranty could have had it reflashed free, whereas a TSB means you gotta pay, they just know theres an issue.
