Due this Fall, Chevrolet's NASCAR nameplate will now seem more authentic with the introduction of an available V-8 to go with a freshened exterior and improved interior. Unlike the racers, the Monte Carlo retains front-wheel drive. And it's still ugly.

Why didn't Chevy do a complete redesign of this land barge?

That's a mess of power to run through the front wheels.

Someone else put these up a couple weeks ago, and I'll say the same thing I said then: BLAND. GM is just biting it design-wise these days. but I think a lot of buyers for the MC just buy it because it is the "nascar" nameplate for chevy.

These cars are both ugly.

I actually like the design of the Monte Carlo... but don't give it such little horsepower and FWD and then make it look like you're basing it on a race car...

Chevy should be selling a RWD Monte Carlo based on the Pontiac GTO.

They half-ass everything. The lines are there...they just don't do anything with them.

You know the designers said "...and we'll have these wide body fenders that will carry into the door panel..." and the GM execs said "...can't we just put a little crease in the metal and keep the car looking like a box?"

Then they finish it off with wheels that don't have the right offset and tires that barely fill the wheel well...voila a Chevy Monte Carlo.
