eh...it's fast, but I much prefer european styling...I mean, come on, it's a FORD. (and I know about the Ford/Mazda partnership...)

and what's up with the 55 year old guy driving the car in the 6th pic? I guess that could be their target market, but at least find someone without a receeding hairline and wrinkles...no offense to anyone with a receeding hairline or wrinkles...I'll stop..I'm a little buzzed right now

hi, I'd like you to meet Steve Saleen....dork.

Those mustangs are HAWT!! 400-500hp ALL MOTOR!! thats too much!!

side view is nice, front and rear view is (blarf) . i'd rather have my friends dad's Mach 1 and add a suppercharger to that beast.

Ehhh...

I'm still getting used to the new styling of the base 'Stang, so I'm usre I'll like the saleen once i get used to it. I have yet to see a new one on the street or a dealer lot though, so it's not really "real" to me yet, ya know?

I dont like that spoiler either, or the fog lights built into the grill.

I agree... the rear spoiler doesn't seem to "fit". All in all though... BADASS!! Putting Ford's reliability issues aside, my reasons for never even CONSIDERING a Mustang haven't changed. Even though this is BY FAR their best offering to date, where's the sense of individuality when it seems like everywhere you look there's a mustang. Granted, it'll take a while before the 05's dominate the market like the current crop. Though it would undoubtedly hurt profits, dropping the V6 model would have been a wise decision in terms of creating a greater sense of identity. How hard would it be for Ford to just create a different car altogether to slot into the V6 category. Position it between the Focus and Mustang GT. Since it would obviously share the majority of its parts with the GT (aside from the body and engine), the costs wouldn't be extreme. most importantly, the mustang would clearly have a much more powerful identity. When you see a G35 on the road... you're not lookin to see if it has dual exhaust or 18inch wheels. You just KNOW it's the s***! But what the hell do I know?

the V6 mustang has made up 50% of all mustangs sold since the early 90's. Ford is staying true to their roots and providing a pony car that is inexpensive and powerful. Not everyone can afford a GT or cobra but want that Mustang look. ever hear of the probe?? that's what happens when you position a car between the mustang and the escort.

Do you HONESTLY think the Probe was a failure simply because it wasn't a castrated Mustang like the current V6 Stangs are? Not only were 6 cylinder Mustangs available then (totally defeating the purpose of the Probe and obviously hindering it's sales to the point of extinction) but the Probe was just downright weird. Some say it was ahead of it's time... who really knows? Would it have faired better if A) the mustang was only available as a V8? B) had a better/less homosexual kinda name? C) had a more conservative sense of style to go along with the inards of the THEN V6 mustang? You already know my take.

The fact that 50% of the Mustangs on the road are V6s does't surprise me one bit. But you guys almost say it like it's a good thing! Obviously my argument is absurd since Ford sells these things like they're going out of style but... in a perfect world, those who are willing to shell out the serious dough for the GT version would feel like they were a part of a more exclusive group. A group that didn't include office secretaries and people renting cars. That's one of the things that attract me to a certain car. I don't to see it or one of the 8 versions of it on the road every two seconds. To my knowlege, there's only one trim on the G35. I dig that. Obviously the individuality aspect of the Speed goes without saying... if only it packed a bigger punch.

My tune may change after I test drive one of these badboys... I mean, 300hp to the rear wheels must be insane! And for what they're charging? A bargain to boot! No wonder they sell so many of em! hahaha alright... F this! (sleep)
