The G35 may only have one model but the 350Z has like 5.....no'one gives a crap because they are all cool and well-styled. Same with the mustang.
As is the case with everything, it's all relative. Maybe I wouldn't go as far as saying those who own GTs and above feel as if they're in a "specialty group" but they certainly are passionate about their vehicles. As far as the "1 in 1.2 million" goes... remember, half of those are V6s and that was my point all along.
As far as the 350Z is concerned... I agree, they went a bit overboard with the amount of trim levels. However, their differences are all relatively minor compared to the difference between a V6 and GT Mustang. ie. the engine.
As far as no one giving a crap about the Mustang's identity crisis because they're "cool and well styled" LOL I gotta disgree with both of your premises there. cool and well styled? 05 edition aside, Mustang's are neither "cool" or "well styled" in my oppinion. (of course, I'm heavily biased towards Eurpean and Japanese cars) Clearly that's a subjective thing. If you think it's cool to follow the crowd... congrats! : )
