2005 Petit Le Mans - Road Atlanta

thats not bad just gotta come up with another 400miles in 15minutes and you can run the petite next year (first)
don't under estimate the power of FSM ;)

I had a great time as well. Good to see you guys there.

I've got to say, PLM on Saturday, Autocross on Sunday made for a great weekend! It was, however, completely exhausting. By the end of the day yesterday, I had a sunburn, (from Saturday) a headache, sore legs (too much walking/standing/running back and forth at the autocross) and zero energy. I went to bed at 9:30 last night.

I had a motorsports hangover.

I feel way better after all that sleep, my biggest irritation now is my sunburned scalp. Itches like Hell, then hurts when I scratch it! I should not have shaved my head on Thursday, then left my hat at home on Saturday!

night time shots, in quisi darkness, while your subject is going 100mph+, and you're hand holding the camera is a lot harder than it seems...

Still sorting/uploading, but in the mean time, here's a teaser :) at the end of turn 10, with about 5 laps to go.

the Astin Martin... how do the number glow like that? or is it just reflective?

aww crap. Totally didn't see this thread. I came down from MD for this race too.
Oh well. I think I saw Shadow sitting in his car for A/C. You wearing a "spicy orange" shirt too?

It was fun. Hopefully my photos will come out. I had a good time getting so close to the action.

Maybe next time!
Peace!

it's electroluminesint..

no, i can't spell it..

It's an electric panel, just like "indiglo watches and luminescent car guages you buy. A charge of electricity causes a special sheet of "luminescent paper" so to speak, to glow.
Cool stuff. How'd you like the brakes glowing bright at the end of the straights!

i wish my car's brakes would glow like that.... or would that be a bad thing?

the brakes was a sight to behold. A couple of them had fronts and backs glowing like that...

Very nice! Can't wait to see the rest! :)

Fadi, that is an awsome shot. I've been trying for three years to get one like that. I really need a tripod. I can capture the rotors but it's a short squiggly line in tune with the brake lights.

Most of those cars out there use carbon rotors. Here's a closeup of those used on the front of the C6Rs.

damn. I called dibs, but you're name is on it. guess you win this round..

those pics are hard at night. That's the best one that came out of that set over at turn 10 with glowing rotors. I have a bunch of the 'squiggly lines' lol As far as tripod, that was hand held, and I panned the camera as it went by, with a rear curtain flash.
