driving into work, car was doing fine. then the headlights and inside dash lights went completely out. Car seem to cut off for a second but continued to run. inside dash lights came back on and headlights flickered and went back off. I notice then the transmission display was showing 3 rd gear. Trans will not shift to any gear now. Car has taillights and side marker lights still but No headlights. the bright indicator lights up when turning on switch inside car for high beams. car has stock headlights. Radio, heater and flashers works.
Battery indicator comes on after a few seconds after cracking, checked the voltage to battery when car is running. 16-17 amps. I know that is to high.
Car has 221,361 miles, 2.3L engine
