I've finally decided to let my car go. It's an '03 Protege5 manual with 225k miles on it. I've owned the car for 20 years and either maintained it myself or had it serviced at a local Mazda dealer when I couldn't do something myself. I have records dating back that whole time for those that are interested in them. I've always done my best to replace parts with OEM when they were available.
The details that i can remember: Modifications - SLS Gauge Rings, Tribute washer squirters, Pioneer head unit with MP3 pocket under it, Sound Ordnance sub under driver's seat, and Martin Performance AC switch fix. Recently replaced clutch with exedy since I had the trans out to fix rear main seal, axles were both rebuilt at this time, timing belt was replaced at 212k along with water pump, etc in 2022.
The bad: it was hit in 2007 by someone backing into it and driving away. The paint is faded and the clear is starting to let go in the usual spots: rear wing, front and rear bumpers, spotting on the hood, the dealership i bought it from tried to remove a scratch on the hood and cut down to the base paint (pic below) and that's another thin spot. There are rusty spots along the base of the hatch and driver's door. It looks surface, but I'm no expert and being in Arizona, it's never gotten worse.
I'm in no rush to sell it, but I have no need to keep it. I'd love for someone that will appreciate it end up with it because it is a great car. For now, it is being moved out of the garage and used occasionally. I may be willing to work with the right buyer if shipping was necessary but it's something I've never done so I don't know how the details work. I've set the price at $2800 and it's negotiable. I'm based in Phoenix, AZ
